What's the difference between off-topic and general discussion? - Off-Topic

They both seem the same to me, except with different titles and I think more posters in general discussion.

I see it as General Discussion is more in terms of talking about games and Giant Bomb itself. While Off Topic is about anything but games.

General Discussion is about games only. Off-topic is about anything else.

At least, that's how it worked on Gamespot. So, I'm assuming it's the same thing here.

By the name alone, one could probably assume off-topic would be about whatever happens in the world, and general discussion is about giant bomb and gaming in general.

I haven't seen a thread about how bad periods smell in General Discussion...
Then again, I haven't looked... but it's a safe gamble that there isn't one over there.

Yeah, General Discussion is supposed to be about games. The problem is, no one really cares.

I'm guessing General Discussion is for talk about games and GB. I suppose more people will migrate from there to here when things get a little more organized.
