For me, it'd have to be 'A Christmas story'. But a close second would be 'My Cousin Vinny'. I don't really like either of them, but for some reason, I end up watching them again and again, whats yours Giantbomb?

Don't steal this and put it on the Photoshop thread, this is the real box art for My cousin Vinny.

The star wars trilogy on VHS (you know the good original one) that my dad got me when I was a kid and was busy getting sick all the time.

Also, The Land Before Time when I was really little. I wore that tape out.

Good Will Hunting

"Have to go see about a girl"

#12 Posted by Sparklykiss (1833 posts) - 2 years, 16 days ago

In the past, Totoro. More recently Ponyo and Repo The Genetic Opera. Some reason I get coursework done faster when I watch those or have them on in the background.

Most of my early life was spent watching nothing but movies, because we lived in the country. A place where all you got for TV was what the rabbit ears picked up, and out of the 3 channels, 4 if you count the French one, only one of them ever came in clearly enough to watch half the time.
The big ones I can recall would be:

  • Bambi
  • The second and third Ninja Turtles movies.
  • Lion King
  • Aladdin
  • Jungle Book
  • My mom had a crush on Steven Segal, so I ended up watching a fuck ton of his movies. The big one was the Under Siege ones. More specifically the one on the boat. 2 iirc.
  • Wrestle Mania 9 or 11. The one set in Rome with Bret Heart fighting Yokozuna, and that one where Shawn Michaels fought Razor Ramon in the first ladder match. I think it was one of the summer slams.
  • The Land Before Time movies.
  • Van Dam movies. The one that sticks out the most was the one where he was at the pitsburg penguins hockey game the entire time.
  • The first Jurassic Park movie.
  • Down Periscope
  • Major Paine
  • Angus <-- One of the best movies ever.
  • The Mask - The Jim Carrey one.
  • Lier Lier
  • Ace Ventura movies.
  • That Adams Family Remake.

There are a fuck ton of other ones, but that's all I can think of off the top of my head.

EDIT:
  • The "3 Ninja" movies with those kids that used martial arts to fight guys.
  • Robo Cop- Mostly the first and second one
  • The first Mortal Kombat movie
  • I loved the Street Fighter movie with van dam. As a kid that thing was pure gold to me.

I'd say my most watched film is A New Hope, my top 5 (in no order) includes Pulp Fiction, Toy Story, Aladdin, The Lion King, and A New Hope.

Tremors.

For whatever dumb reason, I really fucking loved that movie as a kid, and went through a really long stretch where I would watch it every day after school or whenever else I could squeeze it in.

That or probably Ghostbusters.

#30 Posted by fox01313 (4740 posts) - 2 years, 16 days ago

Lost track & stopped counting on how many times I've seen: Hunt for Red October, Ghostbusters, The Mummy (1990s with Rachel Weisz), the Haunting (1960s), Night of the Demon, Spider Baby, In the Mouth of Madness, Call of Cthulhu, Re-animator, original Star Wars Trilogy. Might be more but that's all I can think of at the moment.

Sasquatch Dumpling Gang is one I always watch when I smoke hookah or am in a "I don't want to get off the couch but also don't want to hold a controller" mood.

I watch The Warriors a lot. A few others.

Holy Shit man you are awesome.  I feel actually feel bad I'm not that awesome :(  I really wish I could say the same.

As for me, after much thought, Hard Boiled.  I rented it on VHS back then all the time and now I have two copies on DVD, one from Hong Kong and the Dynasty Collection one.
#50 Posted by FesteringNeon (2101 posts) - 2 years, 16 days ago

As embarrassing as it is,  Days of Thunder.
When I was a kid, my sister borrowed it to me on VHS, and for some reason I watched it more than 20 times. : /
