What's the worst comedy experience?
After trying to watch Rango on the weekend, I found I got all the jokes but didn't find it funny at all, so I couldn't get through it. I generally call this the Bones/How I Met Your Mother effect because that's how those shows make me feel. What do feel is the worst kind of comedy experience for you?
What would the [Genre] Movie Effect be? By "[Genre] Movie", I mean shit like Meet the Spartans or Epic Movie or Disaster Movie or Vampires Suck.
@habster3: I think saying that there's anything to "get" in Dane Cook comedy routines is giving Cook too much credit.
I have never seen a female stand up comedian that I thought was funny. They are universally terrible. There is no exception.

Mentioning Dane Cook and comedy in the same sentence is grounds for the death penalty.
all i know, is fuck dane cook. it's not even so bad it's funny, it's just bad enough to be awful but not bad enough to be worth a pity laugh.
After having a few bad comics at comedy clubs, esp. one at my birthday one year (rest of the time just finding the prices & mandatory drinks to get), just made me want to stop going to those. At least with a bad comedy movie I can either change the channel, throw the dvd on the sofa to mail to netflix after yelling at how stupid it is or just walk out of the theater. Comedy is so subjective, I'm often surprised at movie trailers or moments in films (at a movie theater) where many people are laughing at something rather average funny if not less than that.
I went with C. But really, on Dane Cook, I'd combine choice C with the fact that friends legitimately find him funny
Cringe-worthy jokes can be at least turned around and made fun of for how terrible they are, thus providing some entertainment value. Ones that just aren't funny but aren't bad enough to mock are the worst because you don't get anything out of it besides awkward silence.
B, laugh at something but don't find it funny. a couple of months or so fox changed their schedule for 6-7 show. they changed it to the big bang theory. i've been trying to watch the show. i just don't find the jokes funny. i only laughed at one joke, it was some quiz show. the two main characters were on different teams. one of the team mates was some russian guy. the final question was on something and the russian guy knew it. the jokes was like in russia i am engineer in america i am janitor. it was something like that.
Ignorance is bliss in this case so if you don't get the joke there's no loss. Understanding a joke but not finding it funny can leave you feeling confused or superior depending on your personality type. Again, not all that bad. Now, "getting it" and cringing at how gawd-awful it is has to be the worst. That's your bang-your-head-against-the-wall experience. "C" is the answer for me because it's an aggravation.
The Mass Effect 3 Hating Bandwagon-jumpers are not that funny either. The Mass Effect 3 Apologists.
I think it's OK to not find things funny. I hate comedy snobs. Your tastes are not better than other peoples.

Meet the Spartans.
A thousand times this. That movie didn't even get a single chuckle out of me. Everything about this movie is just bad. I actually had to put on Young Frankenstein That's the problem with bad comedies that other genres don't have to worry about. With comedies we want to laugh with the movie not laugh at the movie. At least with other genres we can still somehow enjoy it by laughing at the movie but when comedies go bad then it's just a nightmare.
Jeff Dunham, Dane Cook, and every ethnic comedian that only talks about how ethnic they are. Which is pretty much 99% of ethnic comedians.
Find something worse than this and I'll give you $775 million dollars. (Please note: You will not get $775 million dollars)
@benspyda: I actually didn't Rango...it gave me a few chuckles here and there....especially refreshing because it seemed like Johnny Depp was just playing lizard Hunter S Thompson.
