After a tad lot of exclamatory questioning regarding the subject, I decided to put this in thread form. Lately, their has been a sudden surge of inept users flooding the forums with incredibly stupid threads and ones that have been completely inaproppriate. It seems like since the new forum design that this randomly started happening, albeit making ties to that is too much of a conspiracy theory for me to bother with. Lastly, I know their is deep irony within me making a thread most likely on par with the stupidity of the new users, but I have to ask: Am I the only one noticing this?
What's with the new users?
This topic is locked from further discussion.
I don't mind it so much because usually they only hang around for a few weeks then leave or grow a brain. Unfortunately there's a couple of new users that are posting almost non-stop at the moment who are complete idiots. But I have faith that they'll find some common sense soon enough.
Quite a few new users make silly threads. Most don't know (or sometimes understand) the rules, and some just like to see (read) reactions and try to push certain boundaries. It happens. Really isn't worth your time to create a thread and complain about it.

We're on it like us on white women.
Good thing we have such a deep pool of old users to draw from when we want intelligent and insightful conversation! I mean a new user is basically an infant, right? They can't possibly know shit.
The first guy who ever registered to this site probably feels that way about every single one of you.

We actually have this conversation like every 6 months. We seemingly always get a wave of new users semi-annually.

It's true. I do have that feeling with all of you.
And the staff has that feeling with me.

Haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary. Not sure if that says something about the usual's or not, but take it as you will.

This conversation pops up every six months.
@CitizenKane: Bah that's what I get for not reading page 2 before posting. Oh well, I'm leaving it up.
You sir, are nothing like those community members. I'd dare say you are, in fact, a dick.

Yeah, some of the users here sure have zero brain activity, but there are still some very greetful and nice users out there.

Isn't that the same as saying "we're not doing anything at all" ? :P
I remember a surge of new users making bad threads happening some time back but since then I can't say I've really noticed such a trend, some days you get a bunch of spam topics on the boards, other days you get almost none. Either way I'm glad our forums are much more junk-free than most other video game forums out there.
All the DNF defenders have spawned some asinine threads. Generally, any threads complaining about review scores and ''critics being wrong'' piss me off.
If you ask me I feel like we have this conversation all the time...@PenguinDust said:

When sites get more traffic, their forums are bound to see some weird, dumb topics. Unless they're super-duper regulated (like Penny Arcade or Something Awful), creepy and trivial threads are going to pop up occasionally. Most of the new users (and I consider myself one) aren't like that, though. The Giant Bomb forums have it pretty good and I certainly wouldn't call them "flooded with incredibly stupid threads."
