@Sick_J0ke: I agree with you on that. Great cover

I like Framing Hanley's cover of Lollipop.

@Peloquin:
Metallica really killed it, the cover is infinitely better than the original.

Stone Cold Crazy, Turn the Page, and Tuesdays Gone are all cover songs that Metallica knocked out of the park.

Pretty Much every song on this CD but I have to say that this song is one of my favorites

Vanished by Crystal Castles for those who don't know is a heavily sampled remix of Van She's Sex City

As for straight up covers, here are some of my favorites.

1. The Clash - I Fought the Law/Brand New Cadillac/Police on my Block
The Clash owned every fucking cover they ever did.
2. Roxy Music - Jealous Guy
Better than the John Lennon version IMO
3. Arcade Fire - Keep the Car Running
Springsteen must have wrote this one ^_-

There's a ton more, but I don't have time for all of them.
#28 Posted by Peloquin (30 posts) - 3 years, 11 months ago

Awesome songs all, cheers :) haven't heard a lot of these.

Had to put up one more...Placebo

#30 Posted by Sick_J0ke (170 posts) - 3 years, 11 months ago
@Peloquin: Glad you liked the video. Are you from the UK btw? Cuz I hear alot of people from there say "cheers" so I've been coming to the assumption that it's a UK thing. Either that or it originated from there.

Zeppelin's is better.

Not a big Pantera fan but their Planet Caravan is OK I guess. Not half as good as Sabbath's though.

I thought Gary Jules' cover of Mad World was pretty solid. I don't listen to many cover songs, though.

OK, seriously, cover versions are never as good as the original. I can't think of one that I like.

Anyone who denies that this is the best cover of any song in the history of mankind can go fuck themselves as far as I'm concerned.
