Let's hear it bombers, what's your summer jam for this year?
Ignoring the pun, mine is The Staunton Lick - Lemon Jelly
What's your Summer Jam?
Hmmm Citizen Cope - 107 Degrees is my summer jam this year. Past years have been Hed P.E. - Foreplay (yes an album intro was my summer jam) and Ice Cube - Down for Whatever
I don't really get why "summer jam" is suddenly a big thing. I guess I would say Joe Satriani's Borg Sex. Only cause it's a good song though, ive only listened to it once in the past year and it certainly doesn't provoke thoughts of summer. Ooh i just thought of a good one, Paradise City by GnR. Ya it's mainstream but that song reminds me of playin Burnout Paradise with my friends during the summer and that was sweet. FYI it was the title screen music.
@TomA: You probably already know, but it's popping up on the boards because it was brought up in discussion during the Bombcast, so now folks are thinking about it.
I have a few questions about the Summerjam:
- Does the Summerjam need to have a certain pace? (That is, are there restrictions on mood or tone of the "jam"?)
- Must the Summerjam be upbeat and raucous, something that makes you just want to move when you hear it, or is it just the song(s) that define your perspective during the summer?
- Must the Summerjam be a relatively recent song?
@Sir_Ragnarok: I would say that being a recent song helps a song to become somebody's summer jam due to the fact that its new and fresh and nobody(or most) has heard it. I can't speak on the other two but, personally, any song that you listen to several times daily qualifies no matter the subject matter or tone.
This same exact thread appears in the Bombcast Forum. It was started just a day earlier than this one. What's your Summer Jam?
@Blair: If your gonna post Outkast, here's the summerest jam of all.
As a Dutchman I took offence to this. This is not only a Dutch film, it is also one of the finest examples of "so bad it's good" film making our country has ever seen. This video merely features the German dub (dubbed by all the original actors themselves).I belive there are 3-4 other post about this, but what the hell^^
Im gonna go with the OST of a german movie. So bad(fun) that it's good :)
Jeez, some people :P
