For some reason i went through a phase when i was 17 of taking photos of everything .

This photo was taken in 2007 when on the spot was actually good

Anyone else remember on the spot ?

On The Spot feels like that cartoon you watched when you were a kid. It was so long ago, and have nothing but positive memories.

"On The Bomb"

Epic steve has it again here. Only problem is it sounds like a euphamism for the menstraul cycle.

On the Spot was the show to watch, High School was crazy, and all ice cream tasted like chocolate. That's 2007 for me.

I've never heard of it.

I watched it a couple times back in college, but hated it.

On The Spot became a weekly ritual for me. I even got my question answered.

2:53 for my question.

You can totally use the Nunchuck in that game, Jeff. I'm still waiting for my apology.

Dude, the golden era of gamespot, damn it makes me really nostalgic

#15 Posted by FunExplosions (5407 posts) -

I never watched it when Brad was on it. I think I watched it with a couple reeeeaaally uncomfortable people way, way back. That made me hate it so much that I never watched it again. Plus, I didn't really get into the whole video game commentary thing until I ran into Giant Bomb in 2008.

But where was I? Probably running around my town with the rest of the poor kids.

This is strangely good timing to bring up the old Gamespot days, as I just created this:

#17 Posted by FreakAche (2950 posts) -

Dude! Rich Gallup throws his notes at the camera at the end of every episode and...

Seriously, I loved the old On the Spot and Hotspot. The latter of which is still decent, but not as good as it's old self, and the former is completely unwatchable.

I can't say that I do. Maybe that's because I didn't know about the fellas until about a year and a half ago

#19 Posted by damnboyadvance (4059 posts) -

Yep, I remember it. Good show, until it suffered it's deaths. The first was when all the guys left Gamespot. Not only did On the Spot suffer, but the entire site lost it's personality. The next death was when they made "Today On the Spot," which I guess was designed to compete with stuff like X-Play.

Rich Gallup was an amazing host every week. On The Spot was a good ass show.

That was one of the best episodes. God I miss those days.

Never watched much of it, when it was on. I was mostly on Gamespot for the news and reviews during that time. I only happened to get involved just during when Jeff was fired. Terrible timing to become apart of the community >=/

@JJWeatherman: Oh that episode, sadly it ended up being the last.
#32 Posted by Damien (1384 posts) -
@JJWeatherman:  We had to do it twice.  It's canon.

And back on topic, I remember Rich's last show and he cried at the end during the credits.  Also, he's Rogue from X-Men.

Oh- how I miss that show in particular. :(

As for On the Spot- I didn't watch it too often.
#34 Posted by slyspider (1159 posts) -

i wish i coulda watched it...

#35 Posted by Rockanomics (1150 posts) -

I just watched the Wario Ware demo and as Jeff mentioned certain people drinking beer with pizza, I noticed that I myself am drinking beer with pizza.

Also yes, I watched the shit out of all of that stuff, seems so weird now.

#36 Posted by JackSukeru (5906 posts) -

I was never a part of the gamespot community, never went to the forums etc, and I didn't really listen to The Hotspot until the last few weeks before...that thing, but I watched Let's Gamespot every week and later On the Spot live as often as I could muster (started like 0:00 over here).

Good times.

Loved on the spot, also fun when they had tournaments, Ryan McDonald and his crazy love for Counter Strike, good times.

On The Spot was so awesome, I watched so many damn episodes of that

It was still good after Gallup left but as soon as Jeff left I left too, but that pretty much goes for GS altogether

Oh God, On The Spot was great! I remember watching new episodes every Friday (when One The Spot was airing, it was 2 AM where I live). Just all that raw, goofy, live fun was so entertaining. And now it is a very small shadow of what it used to. It is not live. It is heavenly edited. And all the people who made it great are gone. In some way I fell sad for those people whose On The Spot experience is called Today On The Spot. It's a good thing there are all those recordings, but they are just a remainders of how awesome GameSpot used to be. Just that much more makes me exited for Whiskey Media live live show.

I mainly only remember the Persona 3 episode.

But what I remember most is Button Mashing.

for some reason, i went to gamespot last week and checked out the Hotspot archives (I'm surprised every single one is still up there). I would download all the old ones and try to find the ones where Jeff would yell GAMESPPPPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWTTTT DAWT CAWM at the end. I wish he did that here :P
