born in Schweinfurt, Germany where the biggest US military base in Europe is located, at least it used to be the biggest when I was a child, closer to 1990, I am not sure about now. It's also the city where bearings and modern bicycles were invented. Unfortunately they also built a lot of tanks for Hitler there.
Today I am living in Kassel, Germany, the city Chris Hülsbeck grew up in. They also built a lot of tanks for WW2 in this city, as a matter of fact they are still producing tanks there today, Leopard tanks to be precise and they modify US equipment for heavy combat (missile batteries on Humvees and stuff like that) 
 
edit: they also have a park with the biggest variety of plants in Europe in Kassel - strange, isn't it  :-)
