I thought I was going to add another one, but I had forgotten what or if I was. I chose C, but I think I may go for Die Hard.

The first Die Hard is one of, if not my favorite movie. I enjoy Lethal Weapon but not nearly as much as Die Hard.

#4 Posted by mosespippy (2605 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

I have the same amount of interest in them as I do the new Battleship movie; which is to say, none whatsoever.

#5 Posted by MariachiMacabre (5341 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

Die Hard for sure. I've never liked Mel Gibson much.

#6 Posted by zoozilla (853 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

I know Die Hard is the Top Dog of 80's action movies, but Lethal Weapon is a damn good movie. If you go back and watch it again, you'll see that it isn't all Riggs-Murtaugh buddy-cop hijinks. There's actually a pretty surprising amount of depth to the characters, and Gibson especially just kills it.

I chose C.

Die Hard, no debate.

Die Hard, the ultimate christmas movie!

#9 Posted by Clonedzero (2054 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

diehard. its like the perfect action movie. aside from the original star wars trilogy i think its the movie ive seen the most times and i enjoy watching it every time.

hell its almost a family tradition for me and my brothers to watch it on Christmas.

#10 Posted by Skyfire543 (427 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

@Cloudenvy: Die Hard is the only Christmas movie.

#11 Posted by NTM (6419 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

@Cloudenvy: Agreed, but Lethal Weapon is too actually. I mean, when I think of Christmas movies, I actually think of Die Hard, but Lethal Weapon isn't a bad choice either.

Seen Die Hard, not seen Lethal Weapon, so the choice is obvious.

This is the hardest decision I'm ever going to make in my life...

...but it's...

...err....goddammit...

...it's Die Hard. It's just too fucking good.

Too. Fucking. Good.

This is the most shocking statement I've ever seen in my lifetime. I have literally never met a single person in my life that doesn't like Die Hard and Lethal Weapon, including all of the girly girls I've ever known.

Die Hard, but I love them both.

Die Hard. My favorite Lethal Weapon was the 4th installment.

I enjoy Die Hard more so I picked it, but there's a point here that doesn't get noticed often. For all the cheesy cliche plots that the Lethal Weapon movies have, the characters themselves in the are better developed and better written than... well, Bruce Willis. All we really see of John McClane is an angry hero who says "fuck" a lot. And, well, I guess he cares about his ex-wife and daughter a little bit too, but he never gets any deep character development, and anyone else just falls into a flat, cookie-cutter role. Not complaining, the Die Hard movies are just fine as they are, it's just that the Lethal Weapon movies are deeper.

Everyone's entitled to their opinion, but I also have never seen anyone who doesn't like one of these two movies.

Die Hard. Love Lethal Weapon, but there's just no comparison

#22 Posted by Philantrophy (329 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

Die Hard, easy choice for me.

#23 Posted by Soapy86 (2420 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

Die Hard. I never liked Lethal Weapon all that much.

#24 Posted by TheUnsavedHero (1159 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

It's been a long time since I've seen Lethal Weapon, but I recently saw Die Hard. Man, is that a great action movie.

Die Hard is really good. I've never seen Lethal Weapon (I have to some day)

#27 Posted by joshthebear (2327 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

Die Hard may be my favorite action movie ever, so I'm going with that.

#28 Posted by Ghostiet (4744 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

Die Hard one. Lethal Weapon 2 is superior to its predecessor.

#29 Posted by Stonyman65 (1794 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

I love the first Lethal Weapon, but I love the first Die Hard even more.

#30 Posted by PenguinDust (12092 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

I've seen the original Die Hard over a dozen times, while I've seen Lethal Weapon 1 twice. I really have no desire to see it again. The Independant Film Channel had Die Hard on TV last weekend and I watched a chunk of it again. It's still so great. Alan Rickman is so damned entertaining, plus there are so many great quotable lines in DH. Die Hard is probably my second favorite action movie of all time.

#31 Posted by freakin9 (604 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

I can't remember what happened in the first Lethal Weapon, other than it's probably likely I heard "I'm getting too old for this shit" at least once.

#32 Posted by Deadmanforking (468 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

I hate to admit it, I've never seen any Die Hard...

G. The Fountain. Which is kind of funny as I was looking into it just now.

The soundtrack is really amazing!

#34 Posted by Venatio (4425 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

I don't even have to think about this, Die Hard is one of the best movies ever made, love it so much

Lethal Weapon is good too, nowhere near as good though

I haven't watched an American made movie in 8 years and I'm not about to start now. They are all the same. Introduce protagonist, introduce conflict, blow up a bunch of shit or have a chase scene or maybe a shoot out, then the protagonist says shit just got real and they do another action scene and then it ends. When was the last time you saw a chase sequence or a shoot out that was anything more than a flashy show to fill time? When was the last time it developed the character or pushed the plot in an interesting way? Probably the final scene of Reservoir Dogs.

I grew up watching independent film and foreign film. They do things studio movies would never try. Studios make the same movie over and over because they know the mainstream like what is familiar to them. That's why they haven't had on original idea in decades. Everything they do now is based on a book, TV show, video game, older movie, comic, real person or even board game. They create a product to sell and know the only way to sell it is if the audience already knows what they are buying. So they don't take risks on anything new and different. That's why I'm not watching anything they make anymore.

None of them rank anywhere near my favourite movies, but Die Hard is pretty fucking awesome, so... Die Hard.

#37 Posted by Godlyawesomeguy (5964 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

Easily, Die Hard. In a related story, holy crap, im using a PS3 to type this yall!

#38 Posted by thomasnash (271 posts) - 11 months, 29 days ago

Die Hard, for sure. I can watch it at any time, even if I watched it the day before. It's efficient, it keeps an appropriate level of scope (something later Die Hards seemingly forget about) so it never gets flabby, it has great characters and humour, without damaging the tone at all. It's nowhere near the best movie ever, but it's certainly one of the best structured movies ever.

Lethal Weapon is also a well made action flick, and it was made when Mel Gibson could still be taken somewhat seriously as an actor, and I certainly wouldn't say it isn't all of the things that are great about Die Hard, but I feel like it's reactionary politicking is way more open than Die Hard's - Die Hard is certainly conservative, but it doesn't push that stuff to the forefront as much as Lethal Weapon, and handles it all with a bit more finesse and humour than Lethal Weapon.
