When I was a kid I looked up to fictional characters like Batman or Ogami Ittofrom Lone wolf and Cub, and much of my values are like these characters to this day for some strange reason. So I am kinda woundering did or do you look up to someone now?
Who did or do you look up too?
My grandparents. They worked hard to help build this country, helped fight off the Nazi's and were just all around great people who loved helping others and spending time with their family and friends. My Grandpa actually helped introduce many African countries like Tanzania and Niger to modern agriculture by bringing combines and tractors over there. Plus they took me to the Dinosaur museum in Drumheller, AB when I was a kid. Now those are real role models.
I don't think i ever looked up to anyone for an example way of living just admired certain people for their values unrelated to how i live; more tried to rely on myself,
but there are a couple people i really admire, che guevara and johnny cash; probably strange / polar opposite choices but i just find them great men; integrity ideals etc etc
then there are others on a less intense scale that i admire, even used to try to emulate when i was younger, like iggy pop and david Johansen
My grandmother, my parents, Abraham Lincoln, Tenzin Gyatso (the current Dalai Lama), FDR, Teddy Roosevelt, and Einstein.
I really admired Billie Joe Armstrong in my early teens. Whole lot of reasons why he was my hero but mainly because he was writing songs I could relate to. I also learned to play the guitar and start a band just so I could play Basket Case.
Had a few other people like David Bowie and Steve Walsh who I admired, but it was definitely Billie Joe who I tried to emulate growing up.
- Steve Jobs
- Bill Gates
- Gary Whitta
Those are just some of the people. I look up to Jobs for his ambition and innovation he has done to this industry. Gates is just a mastermind when it comes to business practices and what he is doing with his money now is just saintly. Gary Whitta joins my idolization due to the fact he is who I want to be. He is part of the gaming industry, the movie industry, and the journalist industry. He has friends in all places and was able to write a novel that I really enjoyed.
