Who got a Nexus 4 today?

As a Canadian, I'm not sure if this is non news for places where availability may have arrived sooner, but after a bucket load of time being sold out the Nexus 4 was finally in stock in the Google Play store. As a tech enthusiast who hasn't had a smart phone up until this point and has done a bunch of research that was probably unnecessary, I have been waiting with baited breath for what has felt like a long ass time. I should correct myself, I really wanted the Motorola Razr Maxx HD, but since it's not available in Canada (bastards) and I don't want to go through many hoops to get one up here I was waiting for my next best choice, the Nexus 4.

My brother had the Nexus 4 checker app on his shitty HTC Sensation that is constantly busted (terrible company) and bought 2 as soon as he got the message. Since stock shortages of this hotly demanded product have been something of a news story for the past few months, I'm wondering who else jumped at the chance and got one today. Did ya? Are you excited? Indifferent? Constipated? Let me know!

I feel bad saying this, but as someone who works for Bell, te grand total of sales we've dropped was about.. 3. And we're the call center sales!

On that note, the grand total for blackberry 10s, which went on preorder yesterday has been two less! Sell your stock kids!

My Windows Phone literally died today and I'm debating buying an unlocked Nexus 4 to have on AT&T...

One of the big reasons I thought it was a great choice. For approx $350 getting a phone off contract, unbeholden to any carrier is gonna be pretty nice.

I hate you people getting multiple chances at buying this damn phone. Here in Australia there has only been one chance. On November 14th, and that lasted all of 20-25 minutes. We've yet to get a second allotment, which means if you can find one here you're looking at a minimum extra $100 gouge. After so long, that's even starting to look attractive..

Still with the unlocked Galaxy Nexus, I wish I waited long enough to just get the 4 but at this point I'm just going to wait for the next iPhone and go back to iOS.

Not a fan of Android? I'm getting my first smartphone so other than knowledge gleaned from years of crawling the internet I'm not a super-fan of anything.

@Brendan: Android is fine, well at least post 4.1. The only thing I really like about this is the home screen, the row of apps on iOS is just archaic but as someone who no longer cares about customizing every aspect of my phone I just want something simple. Plus I don't care about having large screen phones because I don't use them to watch videos, that's what my Air or tv is for.

The most enticing part of a big screen (below 5 inches) for me is in using it as a GPS unit on occasion. People have told me that using a phone this way uses an ungodly amount of data, but I don't intend on using this function any more than sporadically.

@Brendan: Oh actually it uses very little well at least in my experience in using Google Nav and Maps. Like for a several mile trip around town I used up maybe 5-7 mbs. Also you have the option to select an area and have it saved on the device without having to use cell data to do the same. I was worried about not having that but then I remembered that Maps is out on iOS too.

The only time I experienced crazy data use from using GPS was with an older iPhone so maybe Google's method is just more efficient but I would still suggest not using it on a highway for long periods of time.

Yeah that's smart, thanks.
