I watched the show when it was around and loved it, but, somehow, it slipped my memory. Now, I have all of the seasons on DVD and have seen every episode and I must say it is the best sitcom of the decade. All of the characters were great, the humor is so smart and funny, and every episode is worthwhile. It is a shame that a show like this gets cancelled because it is simply brilliant. Hopefully the rumored movie gets made because that would be awesome. So, what are your opinions?
I remember seeing it on tv and hating it, ..... thinking how did it win all those awards?....... then I saw a couple of the episodes online after it got cancelled and I loved it, this was years later, Now I have all the dvds and I tell all my friends about it,
"I watched the first episode when it aired locally and hated it. Since then I always made an effort to make sure there was something else to watch when it come on."You really missed out on one of the greatest comedy pieces of all time. I highly suggest you give it another shot, but it's up to you, naturally.
I love this show...and I may be in the minority that thinks the death was a good thing. I think the 3 seasons really fit well together and wrapped up everything nicely. And the show is responsible for introducing us to Michael Cera and revitalizing Jason Bateman's career. Yay. And I love Clark and Michael as well!
"highly underrated and total bullshit that it was ever cancelled. "I agree, but I think the fact that it was canceled early adds to it's legend. I'm glad that Jason Bateman is getting roles in films. I think Hollywood saw that the show and its actors were extremely talented, and it's beginning to show.
There is a very strong rumor that there will be an Arrested Development movie next year.
Alia Shawkat who played Maebe had said she was approached about doing a movie, and Jason Bateman kind of forced the issue in an interview. Apparently Mitchell Hurwitz is writing a script and Ron Howard has agreed to direct it. Lets hope it comes true!
