Who is the most hated character in any game?

Are you asking who our most hated character is? Or who do I think everyone collectively hates overall? For my own answer, I would say Cammy from SF4, but overall, I'd say there is a collective hate for either Rico from Killzone 2, or Zeke from Infamous.

I hate Cloud, although Crisis Core kinda subdued that a bit.

As was said Rico and Zeke got the most flak I can remember any characters getting recently. Mine personally would be the fan from Oblivion, he was the worst.

Anyways,  I hated Alan Wake from Alan Wake.  What an asshole of a husband he was.  Plus he was just,  well, an asshole.

Every retarded pile of tardation I have to escort in Dead Rising.

The entire cast of Final Fantasy XIII. Except Sazh, he was alright. Second place could go to Navi from Ocarina of Time or that black guy from Dead Rising who would call me at the worst possible moment to tell me about some asshole who is safely holed up in some remote area the mall, and I need to go "rescue" them. Then when I'd hang up on him he would call me back and get all pissy with me. Fuck that guy.

I personally despise Dante as seen in Devil May Cry 3, and only 3.

Hammer in Fable 2 comes to mind.

Most hated character universally has to be the Duckhunt dog.  Nobody likes him and because of how popular that game was, it's the "tetris" of this topic.  By default he just wins.
 
My personally most hated has to be the adoring fan because I can never get rid of him.  There he is, just standing there, can't delete him from life.  No matter what you do to him he comes back.  That fucker.
