From the past or present? Mine would be the original "Sugar" Ray Robinson.
Who is your favorite Boxer
I like George Foreman. He comes across as a lovely chap. I think it's inspiring a fellow of his age was stilll competing. By comparison Mike Tyson rather than trained, acted like a fucking idiot, raping woman, fighting people on the streets, smoking pot and getting fat that he completely fucked up his talent. His last fight was his flabby ass getting punched shitless then admiting he only fought for the money. Real classy Mike.
SlayersBoxer of course!
I'd say it's a tough choice between Julio Cesar Chavez, Juan Manuel Marquez, or Manny Pacquiao. Gun to the head, I'd probably pick Chavez because I'm of Mexican descent and he's just "the guy".
But I also think it's because he's a damn good boxer and the vast majority of his fights were entertaining. Some Marquez and Pacquiao fights aren't as fun to watch (which brings them down on my list) but only because they're so good compared to their competition. Marquez has a kind of calm technique-heavy style while Pacquiao has this crazy (but calculated) aggressive style, but I really enjoy both and doubly so when they fight each other. It's almost the classic "unstoppable force meets an immovable object" thing going on with them.
But again, I really like a lot of Chavez's fights and the nostalgia of watching him as a kid just gets to me.
Never been into american boxing. Japanese MMA was good, K1 and all that, but I don't follow any of it really closely.
Don't have a clue what the state of the scene is like now but Kaoklai Kaennorsing and Buakaw Banchamek were two of my favourite Muay Thai kickboxers back in the mid-2000's.

I love watching Roy Jones Jr. in his prime though.
Absolutely agree with the Roy Jones part.
Between him and Joe Frazier
Me, obviously.
can i pick a kickboxer from the glory days of K-1? my favorite is the late and forever great andy hug.
My joke answer:
Honestly, I'm not really sure. It's been forever since I've watched a bout even during the Olympics. I do recall seeing George Foreman win the title at 45 back in the 90's. That was impressive. I'm sure I saw Ali fight on Wide World of Sports back in the late 70's during the end of his career. Larry Holmes was pretty good then too. Oh and Roberto Duran. He had a lot of fire that was impressive.
Rocky Marciano and Jack Dempsey.
Also Soda Popinsky because I always had trouble with that bastard.
Oh right and Ivan Drago! He must break you.
Whoever is fighting Floyd Mayweather Jr. next holy shit I want that turd to get knocked out. So Miguel Cotto at the moment.
@uniform: I only read about that, but never saw a photo, until now...
Damn.
That guy with the afro on the front of Ready to Rumble.

I read that Buakaw is currently training in MMA with an eye on a first professional fight later this year.
As for my favourite boxer. A British dude. Joe Calzaghe probably
@forkboy: Thanks for the info.
He was excellent when I watched his fights and from what I heard of his few fights last year he still is; I remember him showing brilliant pacing and a extraordinary technique.
As for MMA, I'm a little concerned to how we might perform. He could handle basic clinches but if was taken to the ground? And hand strikes with those larger gloves? I'd hate to see such a great talent go downhill because its too different a style of fighting.
