Explain this phenomenon to me? Don't you want to be an individual? Don't you want to win the lotto?
Everybody wants to rule the world.
Why do some people not change their avatar from the default bomb?
Cuz they don't know how to change.
Cuz they don't want to change.
Cuz they don't care to change.
Cuz they are somehow unable to change.
Some people are either too lazy to change their avatar or they actually want theirs to stay that way.
<-------- About to change avatars again...
Why do half the people with avatars (which are supposed to be an online extension of yourself in some way, to differentiate you from everyone else) just use a picture of one of the giantbomb team or "popular" internet memes so they all look the same?
Potential Possibilities:
-Too lazy
-Don't care
-Don't know how
-Want to be recognized for their post style/user name
-Don't post much in general
" maybe they're all "i'm not going to conform to your concepts of individuality maaaannnn" "*Gasp!* :O
" Cuz they don't know how to change. Cuz they don't want to change. Cuz they don't care to change. Cuz they are somehow unable to change. "yu no fun any mo
It's gotten SOOOOOOO much better since they made that one of the quests. Of course, whereas last year - whenever there'd be one of those heavy newbie days - we'd get tons of red-iconed people, now we just get a shit-load of quest blog spam. I guess you gotta take the good with the bad.
I'd guess the most common scenario is that the people that choose not to have a unique avatar are people who don't visit the site often.
I changed mine almost immediately. My best friend didn't change his steam avatar for almost 2 years, and he certainly knew how to change it, I guess he just didn't care or wasn't bothered enough to change it. It strikes me as a little bit odd but I suppose it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things.
I changed the default avatar right away though it took me awhile to find one that fit well in the box.
I know. At least use the Shoemaker version:" @OtakuGamer said:
No, because now it's that fucking smiley face! "" Just changed my avatar, are you HAPPY NOW? "
Emails!
Eh, I've seen some custom avatars that look a Hell of a lot worse than the default one. I'll agree though that it makes it more difficult to match usernames with avatars.
