It has great news. Constant.. almost streaming news.

But, there is no elasticity to their user comments.. once you comment on a subject or something, that news topic literally becomes yesterdays news.

So user commenting becomes more of endless ranting into the void, something that makes me feel all but stupid for putting my 2 cents in.

Anyone else?

My dislike for Kotaku is mainly because they tend to be the "we heard from a reliable and official source within X company regarding information they recieved from another reliable and official source in company X who was talking to an official source from company Y at their first cousins, husbands, sisters, dogs birthday party".

Kotaku is one of my favorite sources for news, but too many stories are in the "rumors and speculation" realm.

Users are not allowed to criticize the writers. They let some grammar errors by, but... man, sometimes (lots of times) they just deserve to get called out, and nobody has the balls to besides the soon-to-be-banned. Most of their editors are douches. I liked Leigh Alexander though. She still has her own blog.

Don't get me started on Luke fucking Plunkett either.

We would all like to believe that is a myth.

Isn't implants considered "stuffing the bra"? Just sayin'.

Both Hamz and Jayge pretty much sum up my reasons for disliking Kotaku. Unfortunately, they have some news stories that can't be found elsewhere. I think it's quite ridiculous they ban people for pointing out spelling/grammar errors. If I'm writing something, I want people to tell me if I make a spelling or grammar error, that helps make me a better writer.

I cant really complain about Kotaku's news service but i agree with you about comments, it does seem useless when only a couple of hours later your comment is long lost and unlikely to be used for any discussion.

I can not stand the design of their site. Still, it seems like a lot of other sites refer back to Kotaku all the time, so I guess they are good with pumping out news as soon as possible.
