Words or Phrases you wish would go away!

So are there words or phrases out there that, for some reason, get under your skin? If so, what are they?

*Just a quick note, don't come in here saying the same old forum cop-out of "just deal with it" or something to that effect (in fact, thats one of my phrases), if you need your daily fill of ignorant, racist, hate-filled, or derogatory speech towards other people, do somewhere else to find it, because there will be NONE here...sorry.

Anyway, my list includes:

• "Deal with it." (yeah........)
• I don't like when websites include a small snippet of a story and then use the phrase "After the jump" or something with the word "jump" in it.
• "Swagger" (A message to us in the Hip-Hop community, we need to let this word die!)
• "Noob" (Really, people still use this word?)
• "Teh" (Ok, we get it, you can't spell, so stop using a keyboard.)
• "Fanboy" (Let's just call these people what they are, people who don't actually like playing videgames, but actually like talking about them. Actually, that's pretty long, but you get my point.)
• "RAP is CRAP" (We get it, you don't like Hip-Hop, but SHOCKING NEWS: Some people do!! Scary, I know! But seriously, I find it funny that noone learned from history when Rock music was "demonized" just because it was different, but rather keep repeating those mistakes.)
• "Ghetto" (I don't have a problem with the world, but I want people to start using it in it's proper context and real word definition, not to describe ANYTHING that seems to be a little worn down or Hip-Hop related.)

If I never see 'epic win' or 'epic fail' again, it'll be too soon.

I actually hate the following words:

• Pwned.
• Noob.
• Grasshopper.

i don't like the prase "would you rather" because it always ends up with me having a naked Rosie O'Donald burned into my retinas...

FTW, Epic Fail...basically most of the internet "lingo".

I don't think fanboy will go away anytime soon, especially since Webster's added it to their dictionary, plus I don't mind the word myself. Though I don't understand why Webster defines fanboy as also applying to girls, instead of having a separate word  like "fangirl."

I don't know if it counts, but people who don't type out words, example "u" instead of "you," "r" instead of "are". Once and a while isn't bad, but if every sentence you write is like that, it drives me crazy.

"Pretentious" and "Sell-Out". These words are thrown at almost every band in existence.

I don't mind fanboy however its connotations of an ill informed robot is annoying instead of saying, 'I am a fan boy of this'. I hate when people say 'innit', its not hard to at least put an 'S' in there and make it 'isnnit', or you could even say 'isn't it'.

I absolutely hate it when people say it. It's much more tolerable if you're actually playing a game (though still irritating), but when someone says "pwned!" while they're watching sports......man, it just nudges me the wrong way.

Just looking at all the responses in this thread makes my head want to explode. Every time I play Halo, oh, the horror! THE HORROR! I hate pretty much every phrase you hear people regularly say when playing games online. It's all so stupid. What have they done to our beautiful english language?

The big one that's bothering me lately is "desperate."  I'm noticing this more and more lately.
Someone you don't like do something smart that will help them in some way?  Just call it "desperate."

I really really hate people who use the words retard and spastic to mean someone who's acting a bit dumb. Mental Retardation and Cerebral Palsy are genuine mental disabilities, and using the terms to describe mentally healthy people is extremely offensive to people with these problems. It is just as offensive as the word nigger is to black people, but because it targets a smaller, less vocal minority it is socially acceptable, and it shouldn't be, its incredibly offensive.

That entire OP list just sounds pretty ridiculous.

Any "ghetto" phrase needs to be phased out and beaten with a stick until dead. Sick of that culture. Sick of their destruction of America.
