Worst Games of 2009?
while it may not be the worst game, it's actually not bad just a huge disappointment, I'd say Scribblenauts. I was insanely excited for it, but then it came out and I played it like five times then never touched it again.
Watchmen,
Awful plain awful.
Leisure suit Larry.
Do I need to explain, Really?
Rouge Warrior,
Same here, entertaining Quick look, Nothing else,
Stalin Vs Martians,
Urgh.
WheelMan
And I had hopes for this game.
Godfather2
First one was actually alright, Why/How did they fuck up the formula,
Tony Hawk Ride,
Just like the man himself the games are out of it's prime, Please, Don't drag it out any longer just die an easy death, Don't prolong it, it will be painful, Skate has taken your crown, and soon that formula will be old, skate 2 was not as good as skate was, And thus the story begins again.

I would add NBA unrivaled and Raven squad to this list.Also,Damnation.
" Borderlands. Sorry, i liked it at the start, then it got tediously boring. Same quest over and over it seemed. "It is a Diablo style loot grinding game, the whole idea is to kill enemies and get better equipment.
But I thought the game was rather disappointing, there were much better loot grinders released last year. Not sure if most people just missed them, or were only attracted to Borderlands for being part FPS.
Things I bought and was disappointed with;
mainly were
Scribblenauts - Great concept, horribly flawed. Played for a bit and loved it. Played it some more and got fed up. Never finished, which is rare for me.
WET - I am a Tarantino fan, so this game was for me (even though its more like Crank mixed with Kill Bill). I did enjoy the game however felt it was insanely short, kinda repetitive and atleast I think I noticed that the audio was out of sync for a lot of the FMVs.
Cryostasis - The horrible performance after the 12th chapter, the bad combat (reminded me of that really bad WW2 game that takes place in the US or whatever with the made up story; name slips my mind); however I did enjoy the game it was just frustrating.
MW2 - The campaign was really really short (6hrs), easy on Veteran (seriously 6hrs to playthrough, the carnival level where you are waiting for the heli on Vet took me like 3 hours to beat if not longer alone; god damn 20 FPS pos comp), and every level for the most part was overloaded with swarms of dudes, rather than containing frequent stealthy missions with silencers and junk. Really lame story and No Russian has me freaked out of ever going to an airport and not constantly looking around (well not really but still lol) MW1 certainly was more difficult and more rewarding to beat on Vet, however did like that they through some action movie twists at you. MP is fun tho but I never played MP in MW1, so i can't compare. Certainly still a top game of mine for 09 but campaign not up to my expectations.
Also one the most frustrating thing I had to deal with yesterday from an 09 release was spending 45minutes adjusting my TV settings thinking there was something wrong with it when in reality the god damn brightness in AC2 was set to 3 out of 10 by default causing everything to look REALLY REALLY dark and making it impossible to see where I was climbing. Finally fixing it, making the game actually playable and enjoyable. Even hooked my PS3 up to my computer monitor to confirm that I wasn't going insane.
"Too many Rouge Warriors in this thread and not enough Rogue Warriors. "
I was really hoping it was some sort of DS make-up sim
I'm sure these are not the worst games by any stretch but to me they are the biggest disappointments.
Resident Evil 5. The controls are inexcusable. They got so much right yet they fucked up the most fundamental piece.
Red Faction. Started well enough but quickly became repetitive and too difficult.
Prototype. This game is just so bland. Too many ideas and not enough of them are good. A little better direction could have saved it.
" @Video_Game_King said:Nope, it'd have to be Devil Survivor. It came out in 2009, so it counts.Panzer Dragoon Saga again?! :p Resident Evil 5 and Silent Hill 5. "" I believe you guys already know what my answer is. "
Leisure Suit Larry: Box Office Bust.
MOST DEF.
Screw everything else. Nothing is worse than beating to the hollow ground a franchise known for intelligent, subtextive humor and being a noble example of adventure games. Nothing. These people should be hanged by their goddamn balls and a goat should lick their feet, so they would continue their existence in anguish.
Even Amnesty International would end up throwing rocks at those people. And then Jesus would desend, because he has not sinned, and he is entitled to throw that one stupid rock at those bad, bad men.
Scribblenauts was pretty awful. I was only able to play about 1 level of The Godfather 2 because the disc I rented was pretty scratched up. However, in that first level alone it seemed to be a terrible game. I really enjoyed the first one, so I was shocked by how poorly the sequel seemed to be.
Oh, let's not forget about Guitar Hero: Van Halen. I don't think I even need to elaborate on that one.
I agree that Prototype was pretty bland, but I wouldn't go as far as to call it one of the worst games. It just had "mediocre" written all over it.
To call Modern Warfare 2 and Resident Evil 5 the worst is just completely ridiculous.
The three games that most disappointed me the most this year were Scribblenauts (A great concept, but i feel that the developers left the game itself half finished and just focused on the "word list"), Prototype (At first I was looking forward to the cool looking story and character powers, but once I played it, I saw that it basically was a jumble of generic open world game missions), and RIDE (I used to love the tony hawk games, but this was the one where they really just stopped giving any effort).

For how many people that are saying that Leisure Suit Larry and Rogue Warrior are the worst games made this year, I highly doubt that many of them played either game... Just a thought.
Anyway, I haven't played many terrible games this year (I normally try to make sure I'm not buying a bad game), but the worst LOOKING is Leisure Suit Larry. The worst game I've played this year is WET. The trailers for that game looked badass as hell pre-release. Boy was I disappointed in virtually every aspect.
