What is your absolutely favorite album of all time right now.

Name just one that currently means the most to you.

#2 Posted by CoinMatze (471 posts) -

Reuben - In Nothing We Trust

#3 Posted by xavfin (19 posts) -

Mine would be Deep Cuts from The Knife.

I consider the album to be perfect whatever mood I am in.

The songs are produced perfectly, at first it might sound that it is some kind of joke with steel drum samples and such but once you get into it and look it as a whole then all the pieces come together.

The Stone Roses - The Stone Roses. God, it's so perfect for me.

#5 Posted by Sanious (793 posts) -

Shouldn't the question be what is your favorite right now? Because it was my all time favorite album, it wouldn't just be my favorite right now.

#6 Posted by Animasta (14692 posts) -

of all time is probably... Justice - Cross

#7 Posted by _Horde (839 posts) -

Oh damn, that is tough. But if I had to live with one album for the rest of my life, it would probably have to be Black Sabbath, by the very same.

#8 Posted by IBurningStar (2173 posts) -

De-loused in the Comatorium by The Mars Volta. That album is appropriate for whatever type of mood I'm in.

A goddamn hard choice. Ugh.

Paranoid, Number of the Beast, Blizzard of Ozz, Wish You Were Here, Perfect Strangers...

...but I'll probably have to go with Machine Head.

System of a down - Toxicity

That album just changed my life completely, hence why I picked it.

Metallica - The Black Album.

It was the very first door I walked through into the world of Metal, something that felt like a new friend I had known forever.

Hey
#19 Posted by DrSnaqrite (37 posts) -

Grace - Jeff Buckley.

#20 Posted by thechronodarkness (294 posts) -

Easily judas priest- painkiller. The most intense solos, and just absolutely engaging. Just sadly, live? They can't pull the magic off again. Halford sounds like hes on drugs half the time.

Very close to the top though, rising force- *malmsteen* and love is here *starsailor*

#21 Posted by cnlmullen (900 posts) -

Probably Illinois by Sufjan.

#22 Posted by ThePickle (4184 posts) -

Sams Town - The Killers

Not exactly genre defining or high brow but its the album that got me into music

#32 Posted by crusader8463 (14422 posts) -

I have never bought one and I don't really listen to music to be honest. So I don't have one.

#33 Edited by chrismafuchris (1088 posts) -

I really don't listen to the Beatles a lot, but if absolutely had to listen to just one album, I'd probably go with Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Heart Club Band, because it's a fantastic album.

If you wanted to know my favorites, Songs About Fucking, Odelay!, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot, The Queen is Dead and Disintegration are the albums I've listened to the most.

You probably should listen to some better albums.
#34 Posted by Cyrus_Saren (536 posts) -

That's a tough one. It's either Metropolis Part 2: Scenes from a Memory - Dream Theater or My Arms, Your Hearse - Opeth

I feel like a massive tool for saying this but MTV Unplugged Presents: Nirvana

#41 Posted by Vonocourt (2130 posts) -
#42 Posted by Mmmslash (2168 posts) -

Elliott Smith - Elliott Smith

It's so raw and pure. As far as I'm concerned, nothing more honest and beautiful was ever written.

#43 Posted by DeanoXD (608 posts) -

Opeth - Orchid (1995). The greatest collection of the deepest greatest most sorrowful music I've ever heard.
#46 Posted by Fajita_Jim (1463 posts) -
Led Zeppelin IV (Zoso)

Every track is perfect.
#47 Edited by crusader8463 (14422 posts) -

Did a quick scan through iTunes, and the only list of songs that had more then one to two songs from any one single album were far and few between. So I guess it would be a tie between Scissor Sisters- Scissor Sisters, Empire of the Sun - Walking on a Dream, Scissor Sisters- Ta Dah and Lar's Falks Entropia series. Unlike 99.99% of albums that just have one or two songs that I like, I could listen to them any time and enjoy the entire thing from start to finish. Empire of the Sun and Lar's get a slight edge above SS though.

I can't really pick an album "of all time", but one I've been listening to (relentlessly) lately is the newest Guano Apes album, Bel Air.

The album cover's not too shabby either.

Damn, those legs.

Songs I constantly go back to though (as they've become MY JAM at one point or another) include:

Iselilja by Gåte

Utopia (featuring Chris Jones) by Within Temptation

My Selene by Sonata Arctica

Minä Olen by Kotiteollisuus

Just Fine by Anneke Van Giersbergen

Feint by Epica

If I Could Fly by Helloween

When the Lights Are Down by Kamelot

I Feel Immortal by Tarja Turunen

The Good Die Young performed by the Scorpions (featuring Tarja Turunen)

Son of the Sun by Therion

#49 Posted by Maajin (1065 posts) -

Probably Dream Theater's Scenes From a Memory.
