Elton John
Your Favorite Punk Rock Band
I'll be the guy that says The Offspring and you can be the guy who quotes me and scolds me on how they're not really punk.
" I'll be the guy that says The Offspring and you can be the guy who quotes me and scolds me on how they're not really punk. "Can I instead be that guy that just cant stand The Offspring and considers them only a half step above Sum41 or Blink 182 regardless of what genre they are?
Just teasin. :P
" @JJWeatherman: Hardcore Punk Rock fans would probably murder you for that (unless you specifically stated old Green Day)...however, I'm not a Punk Rock fan so your safe from me. "No self respecting Hardcore fan would ever admit to liking any kind of Green Day :P
Lot to list here. Um

Then if you want to get into ska punk.

" @VinceNotVance said:I like Rancid for taking some cues from The Clash... But you can't beat the original." The Clash. No comparison there. ""
The Clash is my choice as well.
Though my interest in the genre may have wained a bit as my musical taste has become more eclectic over the years, I still adore them and their latest album didn't disappoint at all.
I think the Sex Pistols were much more representative of the real punk scene.
London Calling is a great album though.
I won't argue that Sex Pistols were more or less representative of the scene, personally I get bored whenever I listen to them." @FreakAche: I've always felt that the Clash are slightly overrated as a punk band. I think the Sex Pistols were much more representative of the real punk scene. London Calling is a great album though. "
Also, I know I've already posted a video in this thread, and I don't really want to be considered a spammer, but I just feel like I gotta link this one, because it's my all time favorite Clash song:
I used to worship Green Day a few years ago, but I haven't listened to any Punk Rock in quite some time. So I'm just gonna go with Green Day as a default.
Dead Kennedys for me as well. I don't think they really sound like punk music of the era though. They are more like "evil surf rock". Yeah that sounds cool.
" @RockAction: Is your username a reference to the Mogwai album of the same name? "
Close but you're way off. I imagine the albums name is a reference to an iggy pop song he played live a couple times in 1977, which was a reference to the nickname Scott Asheton gave himself when he went nuts towards the end of the stooges 1974 tour, and my username is a reference to that
@McNaastyy said:
hell yeah indeed, and the new album spiritual - mental - physical is also great" @RockAction: Hell Yeah Politicians in my eyes!!! "
Serious answer: Dead Kennedys, hands down.
But if I'm feeling goofy, I'll also take The Misfits anytime ^^
