The Zune 80 is on sale for $200 at futureshop. I can get an iPod Classic 80GB for $205. Which one is the better deal? My friend has an iPod and says it freezes on him often and it shows that he has no music on it, but when he goes to settings it says 40GB used, does this happen to anyoen else?
Does the Zune lag if you have lots of music on it?
Zune 80 or Ipod 80?
"My friend has an iPod and says it freezes on him often and it shows that he has no music on it, but when he goes to settings it says 40GB used, does this happen to anyoen else?"I had that problem on my old 20GB ipod, but my new 80GB one hasn't done it once.
As for which is better, I don't really know much about the zune, but I know I'm very happy with my ipod.

States that the Zune has fuller playback, even with just the default equalizer on.

These guys seem to be siding with the zune as well.
I have a Zune 80 and love it. My friend has an iPod 80 and has constant problems with it (freezing, lag, etc.) Also Zune doesn't scratch at all because it has a glass screen opposed to the plastic one's that iPod's use.
But iTunes is far superior than the Zune software, and has a lot more accessories.

"Karmum said:I have not really had any problems when it comes to transition of music, I pretty much will hit a button and it goes once I hit it. The occasional idiot miss hit (me) wrong button, but that is about it. I think what it is really low on battery, it might have a hiccup or two. (I noticed this once, like two days ago, it lagged like a half a second longer than it normally would to back out of something)."I don't know what one is better, but I love the Zune 80. I would recommend that."Does your Zune ever lag?"
But that is about it, it is really lag-free, and I think you would be making an excellent purchase if you do pick up a Zune. It is quite sturdy, and I have had it since of December of 2007, and besides a few bumps on the back of the Zune (from dropping it), it hopes up great.

Good to know that its going strong for almost ten months. I'll be buying a case so hopefully that'll protect it when I drop it.

Thanks again.
I had an Ipod and indeed crashed or laged sometimes, in order to fix it i had to let it run out of energy and then recharge it fully to make it work again, my brother had a zune but somebody stole it from him, the zune had no problems whatsoever while he had it. btw the Ipod i had was a 40gb classic that i got few years back.
Zune is better. Ive owned both, and the Ipod had froze on me many times, but the Zune app isnt as good as the Ipods, but If you know what your doing, it can do everything the Ipod does.
"iPod man. The zune has a terrible OS and the syncing application is awful"The OS is actually quite slick, and its a bit ironic how the new iPods are similar to the Zune OS, so then you have to admit the new iPod OS look like shit. I don't know what is hard about plugging in a cable to a PC, then plugging in the sync side to the Zune, and just waiting a minute or two for it to load up.
Get the Zune, it's way better than the iPod.
Heck, most MP3 players on the market are better than the iPod.
And as someone said before, the new 3.0 update is niiiiiiiice. You get Hexic for Free :)
"ManMadeGod said:Texas Hold 'Em comes free too. And the XNA development software will allow more indie devs to publish Zune games, so you shouldn't have to wait long for more."Get the Zune, it's way better than the iPod.YAY FOR HEXIC!! Any other games available for download?"

I vote zune for high capacity (80 or 120 gb), ipod for low capacity (4 - 16 gb). Zunes are nicer looking than ipod classic, way bigger screen, and are overall better. iPods are much better looking and much more respectable than the small zunes.
