FireFox has failed me for the last time. The past few days have involved the loss of two different blogs, three emails and a stock report for work. It crashes again it gets uninstalled and replaced by something more stable. I am tired of trying to google self-help guides or topics on fixing this damned browser and its bloody crashes.

That being said thanks to everyone who took time to read my last blog and nominate it for inclusion into the Community Spotlight topic. I appreciate the support and interest from the community.

Also for those interested Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen has reached nearly $400,000,000 at the box office after receiving negative reviews from practically every self proclaimed film 'critic' out there. I suggest these critics go tie a noose around their necks and do us all a favour by hanging themselves, pretentious bastards. Although I do think this raises a significant question, are movie critics out of touch with what they think audiences will enjoy? Or is the film critic business / industry just become overly pretentious and smothered in their own ego?

PS - I enjoyed the film. Bloody good fun to watch. Oh and The Conduit looks horrible, is this really mean't to be the game that makes people value the Wii as a serious competitor to the PC / 360 / PS3 in regards to games that aren't party orientated? Really?

I use Chrome as my main browser these days.  There's an update coming to firefox tomorrow I heard somewhere on these forums though, so maybe that will help your issues.

I was thinking about giving the Conduit a rent, see if I enjoy it.  I don't have high expectations though, so that might help me in the long run.

Huh, strange. I personally have never had any crazy issues like that with firefox, especially the new 3.5 RC, it hasn't crashed on me once even when I was running the beta.

Firefox runs fine for me, hasn't crashed in years.

For the film critics topic. At this point it's useless checking out ratings, they'll say a good movie was bad, but I watched it and enjoyed it. Then they'll say X movie is good, I'll watch X movie and it'll be complete and utter shite... I don't listen to them anymore.

Jumper sucked too and it was a smashing hit.
I think Transformers 2 has the worst story ever, but it has the best special effects ever. And that is worth my ticket.
The movie sucks bad. It would be the worst movie ever, and I felt like leaving the in the middle of the movie, but the special effects are so uniquely captivating that I tried to ignore the horrible storyline,Shia LaBeouf's horrible and annoying acting, Megan Fox's sluthood, and everything that was wrong with it.

Yeah, The Conduit is pretty bad. First time I almost threw my Wiimote through the TV.

Weird, I've never had any problems with firefox. But you should try Chrome, I really like it so far.

I don't think that movie critics have ever really been in tune with the mainstream audience. And, generally, they won't give a thumbs up for something that is dumb fun at best. And, the fact is that, aside from the special effects, Transformers 2 could've been done by a 4 year old. Hell, I'm pretty sure a 4 year old wrote that script.
But since dumb fun is what passes as entertainment nowadays, it isn't all that surprising that it's done well at box office. Personally, I'm sad that it's lucrative, because I think the world is a worse place because of it. But that's just my opinion.

Seriously, Conduit is that bad? I was hoping for a somewhat enjoyable, albeit generic, shooter. It seems I won't even be able to find that in it.

Different things work for different people.  There are many browsers to choose from and I'm sure you'll find the right one.  I like to use Firefox, and Google Chrome is really good.  I recommend that you try Google Chrome.  :)

Transformers is awful, the original was just as bad. Harry Potter games sell a shitload too, doesn't mean they're good. It's not even a good bad, it's just bad all around. Street Fighter: The Movie? That's a GOOD bad.

Firefox is completely stable for me, strange you'd be having these problems.

That many problems with Firefox indicate either user error or an underlying problem with your machine. You may have some sort of malware.

I didn't know you were British Hamz. That's pretty cool. :)

You should try out Safari 4. I use it on my PC that runs Windows 7 and I like it a lot.

Firefox 3 has yet to crash for me, I'm wondering if there is more to the picture there.  Glad you enjoyed Transformers...I'm not sure if I want to see it or not.

While the stereotype black robots in Transformers 2 botherd me a bit, and Megan Fox looked really weird in it as well. I enjoyed the action in the movie as a whole, and thats what I went in to see.  Critics don't know what they are talking about. I go and watch a movie based on how hyped up a trailer for a movie gets me.

I am reduced to a quivering wreck while trying to browse the net these days. IE crashes often when trying to close tabs, yet is often the most stable at actually getting the job done and browsing.

If I want to edit anything ot type anywhere (like on forums) I have to use Chrome because IE fucks everything up and Firefox just crashes everytimeI fucking press backspace. (or navigates away from the page ARRRGBHGHGGHGHGHGHGH)

And I have to use firefox if I want to look at large amounts of images (photo albums etc) because IE crashes and chrome just fails to load them. And firefox takes fucking ages with images because of the way it caches stuff.

I've just about had it with all browsers tbh.

@Hamz: Since when did gross revenue equal quality? I think the Wii disproved this theory. Transformers, if it is shit, would still be shit if it grossed a $Billion.

I don't think I could ever stop using Firefox, I'm so used to everything about it. Never had a problem with it.

On the film critic note, I would say I agree with them for the most part, I thought the movie was bad. That said, if I was in the mood for some brain-dead fun, it wouldn't be the worst choice.

FireFox 2 has been my choice for the past 3 years, never crashed, never had any problems, you could be having some issues with the PC itself, just like MB suggested, malware could cripple your browser and make it do things you wouldn't expect.

As for Transformers 2, I can't think of it as anything but a decent movie, and anyone who talks shit about the graphical aspect of it needs to be hanged.

Surely critic's reviews of films are just their own opinion, and the only problem is when everyone takes their views as gospel...like games reviews, what they write is clearly subjective and will sometimes/often disagree with your own personal taste. Ah, whatever, just my 2 cents

Film criticism is unnecessary. I've never one out to see a movie because it was "a critics choice", and I typically disagree with them. I do go to rottontomatoes once in awhile out of curiosity on how certain films were received. If I go to a bad movie, I'm only out 7 bucks and movie theaters are typically used as a social experience anyway. On the flip side, I thought Transformers 2 was awful, even though I'm a vocal defender of the first movie.

Opera is my main browser as well. Its really slick and some of the useability stuff I cant live without (deleted my college's firewall and program monitering software for a day just to get it installed on there). Firefox felt functional but really stiff to me.

Just because something is popular doesn't mean that it's good. The same thing happens with games. Look at things like Psychonauts, a critically acclaimed game but sold like shit. Does that mean the game critics are out of touch? Or something like Wii Fit selling well but not getting well-reviewed. Like FireFox, your logic fails.

Firefox is being a jerk towards me right now, so I'm sticking with Chrome.

As for Transformers. Let it be known, I would rather watch Manos: Hands of Fate than watch Transformers. That movie is pornographic in its everything. I believe Spoony's one hour long review (About 1 hour) described it perfectly. I have no patience to watch any Michael Bay movie.

Movie critics can be a bit pretentious at times, but they're spot on with Transformers.  Just because it's popular, that doesn't mean that it's good.
