Well tonights On The Spot show at Gamespot aired and some of the Staff who got laid off were in the chat room, giving the heads up. Really sad news to hear good people have lost their job at probably the worst time possible. And even worse that some have been there for a long time are now leaving.

And like Jeff said, lets not be dicks about this. The Moderators have tried to be polite and hint at people not to turn Gamespot discussion into hate topics but if people continue to be dicks and start letting the discussion devolve into mindless bashing and trashing we will start handing out bans. No joke here people, i'm serious when i say i am utterly fed up with seeing any mention of Gamespot turn into a trash and bash fest. You've been warned by Jeff and myself, i think that should show we mean it.

I know Gearhead fairly well and we play Burnout with Don and a few other guys most weekends, trust me he isn't lying

As terrible as Aaron was at what he did....I loved that guy. He seemed to genially love games, and he got more and more comfortable in front of the camera as time went on. I really feel for him.

Great quality guy. They really now who to keep and fire there at CNET! Fuck them.

So many people are hurting these days over this terrible economic issue. Its pretty bad that things like this have to happen, but when you take into consideration that Christmas and Hanukkah are right around the corner, this is really sad.

I don't really see how Jeff, Ryan, Brad, or Vinny can be missed when they are right here. Also, although it sucks that those other guys don't work together anymore, they are not dead and they seem to be pretty happy with their new jobs. I don't think this should be a venue to vent against Gamespot and we should all just move on.

Aaron Thomas was my favorite reviewer that was still there . I listen to "From The Bleachers" every week. He was the funniest guy on there. It sucks that he got let go. Hopefully he finds another job in gaming. Maybe Giant Bomb?

I remember the video/ interviews he used to do, they were great

i seriously think that CBS/CNET/Gamespot is to scared to fire him since he is gay (im 99% sure about that) and they are afraid that hes going to say they fired him because he is gay and they would get sued and such.

I think it all started with Rich, and to some extent Carrie. Id say more Rich though since he left GS for unemployment while Carrie left GS for another job. But if working at GS is the dream job, why did they leave unless something we don't know was wrong?

Working at GS used to be the dreamjob, but not even I want to work there anymore.
