In that a case I would've mentioned Predator.
Though the sexual tension between Matrix and Bennett in Commando is undeniable.

I like my fair share of them. I don't watch them all the time though. One of my favorite movies is The Last Kiss, it's a love story (obviously). But it's pretty good.

Romance right here, just watch it:

I absolutely adore love stories and romance either through books or movies . That 's perhaps because the type of romance that we see or read are quite artistic and you rarely see those struggles, pains , affections , tears and joys in real life the way they are presented in romance .

If Hideaki Anno is directing, twisted has to be a prerequisite.  I really wanted to see him finish "His and Her Circumstances" too.  (Which it looks like he was working on a few years before Shiki-jitsu before that got derailed.)

And Verdugo, you're definately not alone there's probably more people that think like you than would admit it freely.  I still try to hunt down a good romance every now and then for a change of pace and a nice piece of escapism...

"
Well, I never got to see Kare-Kano but I will at some point. You need to watch Shiki-Jitsu though, it's an amazing movie. And while you're at it, you should also see his other live-action movie, Love & Pop, also great.

@Verdugo:  Awesome, I recently watched Let the Right One In as well and loved it.  I'd definitely recommend people seek it out.

I have a certain degree of fondness for intelligent romances and the occasional silly one.  Some of my favorites are When Harry Met Sally, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Princess Bride, and Elizabethtown.

Not exactly. I guess they are good, but I'd prefer to see other types of movies.

I whole heartily recommend all of the following:

before sunrise (watch this one first)

before sunset (watch this one second)

lost in translation

vanilla sky (romance/thriller/mystery, don't be turned off from the lower overall rating, if you like movies with INSANE plot twists you will fucking love this)

garden state

edward scissorhands (mostly comedy/fantasy but has some nice romance stuff in the last portion)

what's eating gilbert grape (mostly drama, but romance as well - this movie is really touching though)

the notebook (someone already mentioned this, but despite what you may have heard people say about this movie it's really fucking good)

do it.

@Knights:
I've seen The Notebook, I was admitively bored at times with it, but I was charmed overall by the story.

I've seen Edward Scissorhands, don't remember much of it. But I did enjoy it.

And I'll look into those others at some point, thanks for the list man!

Love Story?  Ali MacGraw dies at the end, and love means always having to say you're sorry!

As it was said, all good stories have some sort of love story going on in them.  The question I have is do you prefer love stories that end happily every after or love stories that end unhappily, heart-broken or unrequited?

Either type.

I'm more into ACTION-ADVENTURE MAN movies, but yeah, I like a love story every now and again.

Personally, I have a soft spot for Edward Scissorhands, The Princess Bride, and Stargate (if it counts. If it doesn't, then it totally should.)

and Beauty and the Bea... wait, what?

I agree. Let the Right One In was a really great movie. I thought Mass Effect did a great job and I'd like to see more games that let you choose who you're with and all that jazz. Also, Harry should be with Hermione.

I do enjoy a well-done love story, yes. Final Fantasy 7? Not a good one. Persona 3? Very fucking good one. Super Paper Mario? Also a very good one.

There is nothing wrong with a good love story.  The problem I have is when they become unbelievable like most of the stupid romance comedies out there.  Romance Dramas and such are A.O.K in my book.  Most action movies have love stories intertwined within them as well.  'Splosions plus Romance equal A++ movie!

Every so often I can enjoy one, but it has to be spectacular. But when it is spectacular, I love it as much as a good action/drama/sci-fi movie. I tend to like more realistic ones, such as "Once". In fact, I'd say Once is competing with Gattaca for my favorite movie of all time.

Love is for reproduction and  we don't need it anymore with current population. I don't see a point in considering it as a paranormal feeling.
