I miss them, too; but I also kind of like them being gone because it teaches me to stop using them with almost every sentence I write. I have to actually get creative to get my point accross now! How awesome yet horrific is that?

I hate smilies and sigs. Once you've seen one, you've seen a hundred. You can always give a text smiley if that's what you want to convey. As for sigs, I don't want to read your cute little Star Trek or Final Fantasy n quote dozens of times. Think of something original to say or at least don't waste bandwidth. I've seen threads with people quoting each other that seemed to have more repeated sig content than actual message
