I remember loving Hybrid Theory and Meteora back in the day, but I absolutely HATE their Linkin Park's new stuff.
Metallica went down hill since St Anger... But before then (especially their first 3 albums) was fucking amazing. I'm not a metal head, I'm more of a 70s/80s rock guy. Yet I can't stop listening to Metallica's first 3 albums: Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning and Master Of Puppets. Metallica gets my vote without a doubt.

I voted Metallica but my actual vote would be Metallica and "Hybrid Theory/Meteora" Linkin Park. Mostly because Minutes to Midnight just stunk in my opinion, only like 3 songs sounded like early Linkin Park and "Hands Held High" sounded like Mike Shinoda's "Fort Minor" songs (*which I also liked*). Everything just sounded like "Pop music", ugh.

There must be some caveat I missed stating Post-Alt Metallica and on vs Linkin Park, because that's the only way metallica can not be picked over them. I mean as far as american metal goes Metallica are like the elder statesmen, and linkin park is just whatever to me, so obviously Metallica for me.
