I hope so. The only song of his I ever liked, was "Crank Dat" for the first 30 seconds I ever heard it. Then I got tired of him saying "YOOOOOOUUUUUUU CRANK DAT SOLJA BOY" over and over again.

Oh fuck, that's the best news I've heard in a while. It's nice to know that amidst the passing of all these celebrities and the Iran elections, there is a silver lining.

Just just looked at his youtube... Found this. Tell me if it's old news and I'll get rid of it.
God I wish GB interviewed him. It would've been hilarious.

Yo, its like karma. MJ dies, Soulja Boy retires...

Not saying its quite up to par with the depression of MJ dying, but it eases the pain.

You mean I won't hear some dumb ass kid say one line from his songs over and over again anymore? Damn it, I was just starting to enjoy it.

If he does "retire" because of the haters, then he's a chump anyways. Personally I don't like his music, but I do hope he's smart enough to ignore the haters.  With as much money as he has, it shouldn't be hard to remember why he is doing it - not for the haters, that's for sure.

That video from E3 was .. informative, I guess. Even though he's a big time rapper, he still seems to be a gamer at heart.

Since when has repeating the same line over and over again been called music?

I can't help but feel a little sorry for the guy. Sure he may be a bit of an idiot and sometimes say things without fully thinking out the implications of such statements and how stupid or controversial they may be. But the kids is just that, a kid. He's 18 and been thrown headlong into an industry that is full of well established and critical individuals and been forced to sort of deal with that at an age most 18 year olds are thinking of college, summer jobs and not getting up before midday. People have ripped him apart, ridiculed him left and right and generally just been rude to the guy since day one really and it hasn't ever stopped. When I think about all this I can't help but feel a little sorry for him. Especially when I can't help but feel a lot of people ripping on him are doing so out of jealousy more than anything.

Why would people be jealous of him?

@TheMustacheHero: Because at such a young age the guy has become a household name really. He's made a fair amount of money, fame and a lot of the people who try to rip his career and personality apart are likely the same age or younger. But not nearly as much of a success as he has been. I guess what I'm saying is I can sort of admire the fact he had the balls to step up and put himself out there for the vultures to prey on.

I'm sure no one cares that much about anyone and is jealous of them because he is "famous" in all honesty I would have no clue who he was if it weren't for his terrible music that everyone hates.

Yeah Im with Hamz on this one.  Lots of people say stupid things (and make really terrible music) but why is it when soulja boy does it millions of people jump all over him?  Cause he is an 18 year old millionaire and gets more ass than a toilet seat and it drives people crazy with jealousy.  If I were him I would load up my dumptruck full of cash and ride off into the sunset.

I know GB is trying to keep the staff small and managable, but Im just sayin.. nothing would generate hits like a souljaboy video review.... just sayin..
