Top Gear, arguably the most popular television show in the world, just named it's Car of the Decade
 
and the winner is:
 


The one and only 1001 horsepower,253 mile an hour monster: the Bugatti Veyron.

Umm wow.  I thought it might've been the Tesla.  The Veyron won all because wobblecheeks got to drive one flat stick at Nurburgring.

i don't know a lot (i know nothing) about cars, but that sounds powerful (HOLY SHIT 253 MPH), and it looks pretty cool!!!
if i had one it'd be in blue though, because blue looks cool.

Just watched the episode this morning. For a second there, I honestly thought they were going to say, "Ford Mondeo" .

They didn't really say too much why duhqbn, it was a really quick, fill the last 30 seconds of the show kind of thing.

Was there really any doubt though, Clarkson basically wet himself when he drove that beast, I think I would too though.

Fuck knows why they picked that car for realy only playboy dubai types when the worlds fastest car is much cheaper and more sporty. But top gear is all about middle aged right wing types so im surprised they didn't pick a rolls

Not surprising since that car was made as a technical exercise just to say yes it can be done. I can think of other more practical, cheaper, race like cars like the GTR, ZR1, or even the canterham, but thats not what the veyron is all about. Other than the first couple of times just for the fun of it, nobody is going to be racing a veyron anyway even though it can do over 250mph.
