I remember when Angelina Jolie was first coming out with Hackers and Gia and shit like that. People called her worthless, unattractive, and the works. I also remember the same thing happening with Kim Basinger when she was releasing flicks like 8 1/2 Weeks and Cool World, which played up her sexuality. Folks will always try to demonize a woman that happens to be attractive and uses that to get into a position that allows them to take on whatever roles they want. Megan Fox is no different.
I should also point out that Angelina and Kim BOTH went on to become critically acclaimed actresses.
Personally, I dig Megan Fox because she's not afraid of who she is, she grew up poor just like me, and she digs comic books and video games. What's funny is that she's openly talked about how much she was bullied in high school because of the fact that she was attractive, and how people demonized her then for it. Nonetheless, people continue to say she must've been super popular and blew everyone on the football team and the principal and blah blah blah.
Look, whether she's a good actress or not is debatable by anyone. I don't think she's an incredible actress, but I also think she's only done a handful of movies that have gotten her face out in the industry. She's done, what, a couple of Transformers movies and a Lindsay Lohan flick? Now she's got Jennifer's Body coming out, which is a horror/comedy mashup that is willing to show off blood, gore, sex, and everything that has made horror movies AWESOME for so many years. Meanwhile, she's also got Jonah Hex coming next year, which looks fucking AWESOME. Everyone's gotta start somewhere, so I'm totally looking forward to seeing where her career takes her.
There ya go. Just remember that demonizing her isn't going to make you any better of a person.
