I got a new TV. But it's not the one you think it is. It is a Dynex 32'' HDTV. It's awesome! (and $20 cheaper lol)

The second I turned it on I instantly thought "What the fuck did I miss?"

The only bad thing is that I have to repay my dad :P

EDIT- Fuck you, typos.

Good deal man. I don't know shit about Dynex, but as long as you are happy with it, that is all that matters.

What good is a TV if you can't see Billy May's mug on it?!

Dynex is Best Buy's house brand, and unfortunately they are not known for quality or longevity. If there is any way you can exchange it for a name brand, I would highly recommend it. Even an LG or a Vizio would be a better choice than a Dynex.

Sorry to burst your bubble, I know you're excited, but an HDTV is the last thing you should be trying to save money on. Spend a few more bucks and get a quality set.

DON'T WORRY, JACKI.  THE SPIRIT OF BILLY STILL LIVES IN US ALL.

ALSO, CONGRATS ON THE MOVE TO HD, SUNNY.  I WILL SAY THAT I'VE HEARD NOTHING BUT BAD THINGS IN THE LONG RUN ABOUT DYNEX TVS, BUT LIKE BAIL SAID, YOU GOTTA DO WHAT YOU GOTTA DO WHEN YOU'RE ON A BUDGET.

I guess I would say "Go return it" because of the reviews and things people here are saying. I don't know much about the brand but your Vizio suggestion you made earlier would be a great choice. Maybe you want to go to that one instead and continue your quest for HD!!

Well if you are gonna buy a small brand T.V. Dynex is probably the way to go due to the fact that Samsung is the company making the actual screens for Dynex T.V.s. Thats why Dynex has great picture quality for the price. I can't speak for any of the other inner workings of their t.v.s though.

Thank you all for attempting to burst my bubble, but this bubble is strong.

....that sounded odd.

EDIT- oh, and we have a 4 year warranty, so if this fucks up, i'll get a new one.

I never heard of Dynex until I read your post. I agree with MB that you want a reliable brand name but I feel like as long as you have a warrinity you should be fine. I personally have two HD TVs, a Panasonic 42" inch plasma and a 50" Samsung DLP.

I don't know why people are complaining about LG, I have a 32" LG and it's been serving me just fine since November.

I guess that I'm stuck in the past, I don't have an HD TV.
