Would we like to see a Persona 3 Golden?

If only- but unfortunately they blew their shot with P3:P. I don't think game companies should re-make titles for portable consoles until they're powerful enough to handle them, unlike the kick in the junk that was P3:P.

I don't think I want to play P3 anymore... Played the original near launch, got FES and played it (gave up on The Answer since it was a waste of time) and P3P. I think that's enough.

Turning the walking around town into really crappy menus discouraged social linking for me.

I'd play Persona 3 Golden, but only on the condition that it doesn't hinder the development of Persona 5.

I think we've seen just about all the P3 and P4 that we're probably going to see, and honestly, P3:FES and P4:Golden are already pretty close to perfect. No additional tinkering, required.

I'd much rather just see Persona 5 at this point, which I guess we're all assuming is going to be a Vita game.

@chaser324: Vita only? I would think more 360 and PS3/Vita, maybe with cross buy/play for saves. Figure that not nearly enough people have a Vita to make that game a system exclusive.

You mean specifically re-releasing these games again? Yeah I think this'll probably be all. I wouldn't count on never seeing the franchises again though, Persona 3 has multiple movies coming out.

Nope, I found Persona 3 to be enjoyable as a whole, but I couldn't get as interested into it as Persona 4. I think Atlus should work on Persona 5 before they do anything.

@petiew: I just meant those specific games. Those characters are still popular enough that I think we'll probably continue to see them in other places for some time.

Pretty much this. Especially with Atlus going up for sale at some point, I think the next thing they work on needs to be a banger.

Persona 3 already had a Special Edition, an Epilogue story, and a remake. It's done.

No. I've play Persona 3 enough times. I want those guys to focus 100% on making Persona 5 or whatever the fuck their doing over there.

P3P is fine.

Persona 3 has already been remade twice, no need for anymore. I want sequels, not remakes.

P3 has had enough releases within the last several years. If they're going to do anything like that again they've got to at least wait a couple more generations and do something to make it more worthwhile.

Loved Persona 3 FES specifically, better soundtrack, better atmosphere. Did 90 hours in the main story, The Answer added 60 more hours.

@living4theday258: Around GB? Perhaps (you can thank the ER for that). However, there are a lot of people that preferred P3's darker atmosphere over P4's happier one. I put in 200~ hours (fuuuuuuuuuuuuck) into P4/P4G, but I can't deny the appeal of a Mitsuru or some of the other social links in P3.

If Atlus manages to take the best parts of FES, mash them with the best parts P4 and incorporate some fresh stuff of their own into P5, we'll be looking at a beautiful JRPG.

Or it could be completely ass and fall short of everyone's ridiculous expectations. I can see it going both ways, really.

it wasn't the atmosphere of persona 4 i disliked. it was repetitiveness of it:

1. person goes missing.
2. go rescue person.
3. Still no idea who's doing it.

and it does that about 7 or 8 times. Unless the game changes after Naoto's dungeon I dont think ill finish persona 4

Persona 3 has already received two (2) enhanced ports. It doesn't need another one.

As awesome as that would be, I doubt it. The Vita just doesn't have the install base, and since they're using the Catherine engine, the horsepower either.

I wouldn't complain if I saw an announcement for it, but I really would prefer it if Persona 5 is the next game they release.

Until certain events happen in P3, Tartarus is essentially a "mysterious tower" that the casts climbs just so they don't get crushed by the Monthly Boss(es) in the form of Greater Shadows. From the beginning of the game till around November or so, all you really do is:

Train in Tartarus

Increase Social Links

Fight Bosses (with some plot sprinkled in here and there.)

Persona 4 uses a similar formula, but they cover it up a bit better through the use of the Midnight Channel, the Murder Mystery, and each character's personal issues. Both games are pretty repetitive, but I believe that P4 does a better job of keeping all of those, "Wow. This game is pretty repetitive," thoughts at bay.

It also helps that P4 doesn't have Ken or The Answer. Both of those are pretty bad.

I'd enjoy it. I tried playing P3P on my Vita and it's hard to go back to after playing P4G.

I'm sure you've heard this before, but P3P is lacking many of the things that made P3 so charming in the first place. The visual novel style/updates are nice and everything, but FES is really good. It's also like $9.99 on PSN if you have a PS3 and wanna go that route.

@flappy: I own the PS2 version of FES, but I couldn't be bothered hooking up my PS2 again. I also liked playing P4G in short bursts and being able to suspend whenever I wanted on the Vita was key to that.

@mcfart: Yeah, if they're using the Catherine engine, I guess a 360/PS3 release probably does make more sense for Persona 5. That being the case, hopefully they can manage a summer 2014 release. I'd rather not have P5 end up in that odd period P4 did when it was released about two years after the 360/PS3 launches.

I'd like it, if only to see @video_game_king have to do another blog chronicling his time with Persona 3.

I'd like to see P4G ported to consoles before seeing P3 remade.
