Now I know that Persona 4 came out in 2008, 3 years after the 360 and 2 years after the PS3 was released, but do yall think that Atlus will make P5 next-gen (or even next-gen exclusive)?

It's already in development (supposedly), so no way in hell it's going to be next gen. Although I doubt it would be next gen even if it wasn't in development. Atlus is not one to jump on board with the next gen early. Persona 4 and Devil Survivor 2 are proof enough of that.

Atlus isn't big on multiplatform releases either. Maybe PS3 and 360, but I highly doubt they'd bother with a next gen port too.

It's mildly possible. P5 has been in development for a while now, but as late as 2011 they were still only going through pre-production planning. So, they certainly could have transitioned at some point in 2012 to targeting a next gen title. Though, as per their history, it is more likely that they will just release it on a current gen console within the next two or so years.

Na no chance. Anything else than PS3 would be more than stupid. Maybe they will port it later as a downloadable title or so^^

To be honest, it wouldn't surprise me if Persona 5 was a handheld game. If it is for consoles, most likely this generation.

That would be awesome actually. The Vita could do it no problem.

Why go for the millions, when ATLUS has the 10's of millions or if ATLUS is generous the 100's of millions (Xbox 360 release???) of established users. I mean ATLUS only needs high res art/ voice over up the ass/ more animated cutscenes to get me pumped. I don't know but i know its a day 1 buy.

unfortunately i doubt it. maybe the chances are upped by the success of the past 2 games ( it would be a big win for sony to have it as an exclusive on a newish console) but yeah i highly doubt it.

I think part of the reason Persona 4 was such a success, despite being a very niche game, was that the PS2 had a huge install base and there wasn't much else coming out on it. It would probably be a smart business move to have a similar strategy with Persona 5.

They will probably release it on the PS3, but imagine if they released it on the PS2? Now, that would be something.

Fuck no....

I want a upgrade and no downgrade. If at most PS3/vita but that's it.

I'm pretty sure that the PS3 and the 360 have each pushed about 45m units, so for hundreds of millions it's also going to release on the Wii, the original DS, the PS2, and iOS.

I haven't heard anything about a Persona 5 so I wouldn't really know.
But I think they would put it out on PS4 and Vita, especially with all the cross-platform things going on with those two systems.

Persona 5 is only taking so long because no one can figure out how to design a caricature to one up a girl who can galactic punt in a skirt while eating stake and getting nerdy on you.

I think it would be silly not to release it on PS3/360 to take advantage of the humongous install base.
