Just got PS4 for anniversary gift should I return it and wait for white one?

I couldn't care less what color my PS4 is (well, maybe if it'd be shiny-bright pink...), but different strokes for different folks, of course. Still, though, that bundle is months away from now and at least to me that would seem a bit of a dick-ish thing to do.

Is a white one really going to make a difference? With every console I've ever owned, I stopped caring about how it looked after about a week. It's a machine that plays video games, I couldn't care less what colour it was and you shouldn't either. Will it being white make you play games betterr? No. If you want to return it and get the money back sure, but your wife might feel hurt. She probably thought you'd really like it and was willing to spend that much to make you happy. I get crappy gifts for Christmas and Birthdays all the time - stuff I don't want, but stuff that's also super expensive. My mother got a ludicrously overpriced leather briefcase for me once - I had no need for it, it cost almost 600 dollars and it was too heavy and bulky for me to take to the hospital every day. I still kept it, because she thought I'd like it and I didn't want her to feel bad (although I later tactfully and gently suggested that in the future she should actually consult with me as to what I needed rather than just assume I had a need for big, overpriced leather briefcases).

Keep your PS4. There are other games you might play on it. A white one is not gonna play your games any better and I guarantee you that in a week or two you won't even notice the colour, because the colour simply doesn't matter. It's not like you're gonna take your PS4 out in public and hold it aloft for all to see. My PS4 could be bright freaking hot pink for all I care, but I'd gladly take it if it was free.

Dude, it was a gift, say thank you and be grateful. I imagine it would be pretty hard to buy someone a nice, gift only to have them return it. The only notable exceptions are white elephant gifts and clothing (wrong size or just something you would never wear).

But that's 3 months of waiting to play PS4 games you will never get back. Most importantly though...that is an awesome anniversary present! Don't hurt their feelings. Spray paint it or decal it or something if it means that much.....

You can buy decals for your PS4, including basic white. I don't think the colour of your PS4 actually matters though. It's not like it makes it run faster.

Besides (in my opinion) the white PS4 is... well, ugly. But I generally don't like white consoles anyway. Except for the white Xbox One, that one is pretty good, but I still like the black one better.

That's a dumb idea, it's the same console. If she got you a Xbox One and you wanted a PS4 sure but IT'S THE EXACT SAME.

EXACTLY! If you want to dress it up go to DecalGirl and look at all the PS4 skins they have on offer. Or you cna make your own custom decal. The PS4 is amazing for decals because the broad flat surfaces and angles really are great for images.

Just go get Destiny and a white controller. Almost the same thing.
