So here I sit on route 11 for about 5 combined hours over 2 nights walking back and forth looking for a Pokémon that I know only spawns in hordes just a common non evolved non legendary Pokémon not ONCE in in all that time did a horde of these things even spawn I could understand if it was a legendary or something but this is just ridiculous.

Reference: http://www.ign.com/wikis/pokemon-x-y/Starly

Also note playing X, multiple sources confirm they spawn in both games.

Catch an Oddish and use Sweet Scent to always encounter a horde. They're still rare but it shouldn't take you more than 10 minutes to find.

You shouldn't be bothering for horde pokes without sweet scent anyway, that or honey.

Or you could trade for it online. Just throwing the option out there.

@vuud: What about when the Pokemon tears brought Ash back to life in the first movie? Listen children, when somebody dies if you cry enough it'll bring them back to life. They're still dead? Well you didn't cry hard enough.

I've been out of Pokémon since gen 1 Pikachu edition so my knowledge of out of battle abilities basically ended with cut and strength. I had and Oddish and used sweet scent on the advice of @meepasaurus and got what I needed.
