It's not a traditional use of bells.

#14! I'll do some hints in the meantime

"Baby, You're a Firework" - Fireworks related, most important what sounds they make (twice)

"Defending the Homeland" - any of the modern games where the FRONT lines were at HOME are good here. Where WARFARE gets wild.

"Liberty Bells" - What was the most patriotic lookin game to come out of E3? Bigger hint: it involved horses.

"Your Civil Servants" - Only one game had enough CHAOS to bring a president and VP into METAL mechs. For the third, I took everyone's favorite metro mayor.

It can be any politician (you could do all presidents for yours).

A bit more clarification on how I'm stuck with the bells thing. I've tried the first Twinbee game, and both versions of Colonization, without success.

#17 Posted by mracoon (5083 posts) -

My hints are up. I was stuck on Baby You're a Firework for a bit.

@mracoon: Those hints are a little on the nose.

#52. Really surprised that none of the Twinbee games were an acceptable answer for the Bell quest.

I liked how the Fireworks quest registered with a certain PS2 launch game.

Got it - #76.

#22 Posted by mracoon (5083 posts) -

@Milkman: Possibly for you but I don't think they'd be as apparent for everybody. People have a varying degree of video game knowledge.

Liberty Bells: Grabbing a bell scores you points.

Baby You're a firework-ironically made by a UK Studio

@Count_Zero: Thanks for the tip!

And now I have Katy perry stuck in my head. Thanks GiantBomb.

For the fictional president one, he is in a game series well-known for its convoluted story.  He also had to get an eye patch later on.

#27 Posted by INV2 (321 posts) -

I started this and like 3 people had finished...terrible at these. Mssing two for Defending Your Homeland and the Baby You're a Firework...probably over-thinking it...or not thinking enough...maybe both.

#96. Quickly knocked it out in 5mins whilst at work. Wasn't very hard at all...expect for the bell one but I got lucky with that.

100 to complete. Thanks for the hints everyone!

#5. I was hoping for #1 or #4.  Oh well.

I only knew 1 of 3 politicians. I hadn't even heard of the other two I found. I need to diversify my gaming a bit more.

Exactly. It's not even one of those instances where I'm the only person who's heard of the game; hell, Jeff did a Quick Look of the damn thing during the Game Room Endurance Run (what else would you call it?).

The Bell object isn't associated with the games is my guess why it isn't working.

Had some interesting games work out for me, which weren't the most obvious choices.

"Liberty Bells"

  • You got a raccoon for a landlord.
"Defending The Homeland"
  • In the future, you have rocket legs and a shape-shifting gun.
  • Research is your best weapon against these "visitors" on this upcoming game.
  • It's got armored bears.
"Civil Servants"
  • This hulking Metro civil servant wears a freakin' belt for a suspender.
  • Power armor politician #1 from a FROM game.
  • Power armor politician #2 from the same FROM game.
"Baby You're a Firework"
  • Launch PS2 game. More like a tech demo than a real game.
  • Named closely with a soda brand.

For Civil Servants - he's that dude from Portal 2 and a president of the United States

I can't help but feel wronged that Firecracker HD didn't get the fireworks part of the quest.

But still, #183, one of my better showings for sure.

#38 Posted by Gav47 (1583 posts) -

#182, thats the lowest I've been in along time.

#266 :| When do the new quest sets go up? Is there a consistent time that I don't know about? I wouldn't mind making a run at a double digit placing one of these times.

#358 here.   Got stuck on remembering one last game that takes place in the U.S.

Glad to see a certain mayor counts towards the Civil Service quest.

#44 Posted by lightningstrike14 (23 posts) -

#367.  I see what you did with the bell one. Very clever, very clever indeed...

#45 Posted by Make_Me_Mad (3204 posts) -

364!  Happy fourth of July, everyone.  So glad a certain game featuring patriotic mechs got a reference in this.

The only reason I got Civil Servants was Broken Pixel.

Baby You're A Firework: One of the 4 main characters in this game has a buddy named Keith.

Twinbee really should have been an alternate solution to the Liberty Bells quest.
