Lord British himself hopped onto the countdown live-stream for Chris Robert’s Star Citizen Kickstarter today to chit chat it up. During his appearance, he mentioned that he is looking to create a new Ultima game, with or without the license from EA. I would enjoy seeing what he can do using crowd funding to bring back the Avatar. Here is hoping we hear more sooner than later.

Well he can't use the Ultima license without EA, hence the Spiritual Successor part.

A spiritual successor is a game in the same vein as a previous game, but not necessarily with any story, name, or other ties.  Ex. King's Field and Demon's Souls/Dark Souls.

So... exactly what he is talking about.

Does this mean that Richard Garriott is starting from a blank slate?

Get it?... Tabul... forget it.
