Its absolutely Ryan's style rather than some sappy tribute T-Shirt.

Just bought it. Wont be able to wear it out of the house but goes to a great cause so got it extra big and figured it could be my "sitting on the computer all day Sunday playing games" shirt.

#4 Posted by Gladiator_Games (444 posts) -

This.. Is not what I wanted :( I wanted something I could wear and be proud of around other people :(

#5 Posted by wtrswoopes (20 posts) -

Didn't need to be sappy, but I would of liked the memorial shirt to be something I could have worn in public. That said... I'll be buying one to offer my support.

#6 Posted by insaneTJ (28 posts) -

I'm willing to double down on multiple shirts if they made a more public friendly one, but I'm still totally buying that one.

#7 Posted by Atheist4Jeezuhs (2 posts) -

Personally I think it is pretty dumb. I imagine less people will buy the shirt since it probably is something that most people won't actually wear.

#8 Posted by PollySMPS (221 posts) -

It's exactly what it needs to be. It's got the right tone and is done in the right spirit. Tasteful, despite what some may think given the use of the word "fuck."

#9 Posted by GorillaMoPena (1955 posts) -

It has also been stated on twitter they will look into a non-fuck on a shirt option.

#10 Posted by ShaggE (6349 posts) -

I also wish it were something more publicly wearable, but that's still brilliant.

#11 Posted by erp78 (15 posts) -

I'm not really a T-shirt guy anymore but if they put up a donation option I'd totally chip in.

#12 Posted by MHumphreys89 (712 posts) -

If you keep the stock in GB I will buy it, currently broke.

That's what I was going to make for an avatar after hearing about his death, but I wasn't sure if the comma was enough to convey proper meaning. I should have jumped on it. I could be rich!.... and by that I mean richer from having known of Ryan

#14 Edited by rawrsair (819 posts) -

Clever, but I'd prefer a shirt I could wear in public

#15 Edited by TheSly (2 posts) -

If there was an option I could proudly wear in public I'd be all over it. I don't feel this is that option.

I'll wait for the non-fuck version to contribute. The "Love Ryan Davis" seems to be more appropriate imho.

#16 Posted by villainy (541 posts) -

I'd prefer a straight donation rather than have a portion of that $25 go to a shirt I'll never wear. I'm glad to give wherever I can though.

#17 Posted by Patman99 (1559 posts) -

It would be cool if it was just "Ryan Davis". In saying that, I am mulling over if I want to buy this.

i think i'dve preferred something like olly moss' art. this new shirt is clever, and is in-tone with the davis...but i'm not gonna wear that shirt.

#19 Edited by JacDG (2114 posts) -

People wear worse shit in public, this is perfectly fine.

#20 Posted by falserelic (5334 posts) -

Not trying to be negative, but it seems offensive. Even though I know its not suppose to be...

#21 Edited by Hockeymask27 (3683 posts) -

its all about the ,

#22 Edited by csl316 (8190 posts) -

It's great and perfect.

Shame I can't wear it in any situation I'm involved in.

#23 Edited by FreakAche (2950 posts) -

This is exactly what I guessed when Brad mentioned on the podcast that "the punctuation is key".

This is absolutely true, but that is at their individual choice. Many people would not be comfortable doing this. Remember that just because someone does it, doesn't mean that everyone else wants to do it.

#25 Edited by NotTheBees (26 posts) -

I don't think the fuck is distasteful, but it means I won't be wearing the shirt in front of people. A cleaner version of the shirt would be great. As

@thesly

said, 'Love Ryan Davis' would be a really nice alternative option.

Just to confirm, do all of the proceeds of this go towards Ryan's wife?

EDIT: I clicked the link and got my answer straight away, good to know there's a way to help out.

#26 Posted by JammyJesus (770 posts) -

I would be happy to give a donation, but I honestly don't feel this was the best t-shirt they could have made.

#27 Posted by PatchMaster (200 posts) -

Pretty awesome

...but yeah, a more public option would be nice too.

#28 Posted by TheMasterDS (2022 posts) -

While Fuck Ryan Davis and Fuck, Ryan Davis is hilarious I don't think I can get that T Shirt because I just wouldn't be able to wear it anywhere. Looking forward to the version I can wear places.

#29 Posted by DrWorm (33 posts) -

At the very least, bringing back the 'China Don't Care" shirt would be awesome.

#30 Posted by NoobSauceG7 (1235 posts) -

Pretty much agree with what everyone else has said. It is a nice gesture, but I want to wear a Ryan Davis shirt in public :(

#31 Posted by wjb (1645 posts) -

It's clever. I like it.

If I were to dream, though, I'd like a shirt of Olly Moss' design of Ryan Davis.

#32 Posted by jimmyfenix (3837 posts) -

whats wrong with wearing this in public !?!

#33 Edited by Milkman (16542 posts) -

Personally, I would have been fine with just a re-issue of the original shirt. But what really matters is where the money is going. The shirt is irrelevant.

#34 Posted by jeffallton (22 posts) -

STOP BEING PUSSIES AND WEAR IT IN PUBLIC

#35 Posted by The_Dude_Abides (173 posts) -

I don't like it tbh. I want something fluffy and fun.

#36 Posted by jimmyfenix (3837 posts) -

@milkman: Yes thats true everyones complaining about it being too "blue" but the money will go to ryans wife and help towards funeral costs so thats the reason to buy it if you want to help out

#37 Posted by planetfunksquad (401 posts) -

Why wouldn't you wear this in public? I'm 100% sure that you have said fuck loudly in a bar or whatever at some point in your life. Cuss words are OK folks.

#38 Posted by ShadowConqueror (3050 posts) -

FUCK, RYAN DAVIS.

#39 Posted by RnRpax (28 posts) -

Greatly miss the big guy. Bought a shirt, going to a good cause. Really wishing they would re-issue the Ryan narc shirt though, missed out on that one. One of my fav Ryan podcast moments/stories.

#40 Posted by XtremePudim (86 posts) -

A lot of people made great tribute art honoring Ryan, and I feel that any of those would've been a better choice. That said I agree with Milkman it's where the money is going not the shirt that matters, but I'll wait and see if they make a shirt with a design I like more, if they don't I'll buy this one.

The reason they can't / won't use art is because of cost to produce. A single colour text shirt is cheap to produce, printing multi coloured art is not. If we want as much going to the good cause as possible then it needs to stay text based.

#42 Posted by Lashe (1244 posts) -

I think it's perfect, personally.

#43 Posted by Breadfan (6589 posts) -

Ryan brought plenty of laughter to me over the years. The least I can do is buy some stupid ass (meant as a complement) shirt and wear it out in public with absolutely zero context. Plus it is for a great cause. Take my money.

I just don't see the issue.

#45 Posted by DutchMeat (64 posts) -

I couldn't buy it fast enough, and damn straight I will wear this in public...under a long sleeved shirt.

#46 Edited by Brackynews (4050 posts) -

Awhhhhh commannnn... ;)

#47 Posted by afabs515 (1015 posts) -

I'll buy it, but I can never wear it. Kind of disappointed tbh. Would love a more appropriate shirt so I can show my support in public.

#48 Posted by development (2109 posts) -

I'll buy this, but I'm gonna buy the other one to wear in public. I'm not into the idea of children's moms yelling at me when I'm trying to be nice.

#49 Posted by ShaggE (6349 posts) -

At people asking why profanity on a shirt is an issue: I'm sure it differs depending on location, but around here, you can get fined, thrown out, etc. for wearing something like that. Probably won't in most cases, but it can and has happened (hell, just a few months ago, two women got thrown out of a mall for wearing anti-cancer hats that actually had the word "fuck" semi-censored), and even when it doesn't, it's not worth getting endlessly accosted by passers-by.

#50 Posted by selfconfessedcynic (2495 posts) -

I'm buying it tomorrow (assuming stock lasts) - but can't wear it either :(

But hey, that was only part of the point. Hopefully the guys also reissue China Don't Care with the same donation hooks - the one shirt I missed out on and really wanted.
