With the release of 1.0. I was hopping that maybe somebody was cool enough to run a server for the GB Community ? I would host one myself but don't have the bandwidth to do so.

Id love to play this with some Bombers also, I may end up running a server if someone doesn't start one soon...

Can anyone answer me if single player toons can join multiplayer, or do you need to make a new character. I only ever played Terraria single player.

Yep, you can take your single player character into multiplayer.

Just giving everyone a heads up the only way I know how right now (wife is on the pc, i'm downloading the game on my mac): I have a mumble server if you wanna join and talk on that.

Just point mumble to talk.toasttopia.com ... if you are using google's DNS servers, you should be good to go. Otherwise, use the ip to connect for now: 23.22.95.38

Awesome, patch is out updating some minor stuff

- Massively reducing the pixel cost (sometimes eliminating it entirely) on early weapons/armor. You can build a refinery in later tiers to turn ores of all kinds into pixels. (done)

- Monsters now have a small chance to drop meat when killed with normal weapons. (done)- You can no longer teleport to another players ship from underground (done)- Bandages are now craftable with 4 plant fibres, no longer require fabric (done)

How are your impressions of the game so far? I wanted to like Terraria but there were aspects of the game I didn't really enjoy. Interesting to know.

@machofantastico: Personally I'm loving it. I was not a fan of the general flow of Terraria despite enjoying the actual crafting and building portion of the game but the combat side of Starbound is much more enjoyable for me even at the early stage I'm in. I think this is a case though, just like Terraria, of a game you're going to get a lot more out of when playing in a group of people you can almost kinda sorta trust.

Just a reminder though that when you're in a game with someone and they join your party they can go on your ship, remove and add blocks, access your storage, etc. at the moment. Keep this in mind if you guys play MP with other people. Hate to have someone lose their hard earned tvs and other merchandise just because they partied with the wrong assholes.

I have taken the server down for an update and to shuffle a few things around on the server itself. I think it'll be up in the next 2 - 3 hours within the hour.

Oh so... 1 handed weapons, you can equip your torch/flashlight in your offhand and still light up the area. Also you can dual wield flashlights.

You can add music to the game for instruments by putting it in the steamapps/common/starbound/assets/songs folder, they have to be abc files. Here's one I made for Guile's Theme, you should download it so we can all play it together, because that's also a feature, because this game is fucking rad.

Overrun prison cleared. Planet surface scoured. Sleep cycle destroyed.

Just bought the game today, and I'll be up for some online. I played a little of terraria, but never got into the online. Might not start playing before the next patch though, because there is going to be a character reset.

So, can you upgrade your spaceship or just make stuff on the planets themselves?

@sammo21: You can put all kinds of shit inside your ship, but doesn't seem like you can upgrade the actual hull or anything like that. I wouldn't rule it out, though, the way they're making huge changes left and right.

So guys, after finding little tiny foot-tall houses and poop monsters in a sewer, I finally succumbed to poison. Got a good pic, though:

Just so everyone knows, characters will be wiped in the next update, and maybe worlds too, but I dunno about that. My fishman now is named Boatwaltzer, I'll probably go birddude and call him Boatwingzer next time around.
