The point system is designed to prevent users from entering for every single giveaway. This lowers the overall number of entries, and provides everyone with better odds of winning games they're interested in playing. New users start out with 25P. Every time anyone submits a game, every member of the site, excluding the giveaway creator, receives 5 percent of that gifts value (in USD) in points. For example, if a $50 gift is created, every user on the site receives 2.5 points. And, if a $20 gift is created, everyone would receive 1 point. These points can then be spent on entering giveaways.
1P = $1 - When entering a giveaway, 1P is equal to $1. If you're entering for a chance to win a game valued at $20, you'll spend 20 points. If at anytime you decide to remove your entry while the giveaway is open, those points will be returned.
The maximum number of points that can be banked is 300. This is to prevent users from stocking up on points while being away for long periods of time."
You know you have too many steam games when you see an entry you're interested in and go "Oh yeah, I wouldn't mind playing that" then you see that you already have the game in your library.
Last comment was not letting me post an image like I wanted. Any way, I had a thought (which hurt, but seems better now) that maybe I would give away a couple of these I have left over from PAX East to some duders that are really being generous to the rest of us. I figure I will leave it up to the people that receive some thing exceptionally cool to let me know if they believe some one should get one, and if there is even any body that wants them.
Do those packs give you permanent acccess to characters? If so id like to play as a Veteran, I have all that fancy GB gear that I cant se :p

Whoa, I had no idea there were so many of those cards at PAX. I missed out, haha. I claimed the three or four I had and they unlocked "PAX East" skins. I'm not sure if they unlocked characters or not. I claimed the codes before I did anything else in game. I don't know what was already there.
Anyway, thanks for the giveaway. I hadn't heard of Nuclear Dawn before this Steam Gifts thing, but I've entered two giveaways for it since it looks pretty cool.
Just a heads up. There are people outside the GB community participating in these giveaways.
I noticed a few comments in my give aways that sounded like people just having joined the group. Maybe it will bring some people to the site, hope it does not defeat the purpose of these being for Bombers only. What can you do? People will always find a way around the system.
Yeah one person who entered my giveaway has entered 1,085 giveaways and comments "thanks" on each one.. Seems a tiny bit suspicious!
We could make the Giant Bomb steam account private and make sure each member has a Giant Bomb account? Might take a while but it'll make things fair.
That Giant Bomb group is the main public Giant Bomb group. If someone wants to set up a new private group specifically for giveaways, go for it, but that group isn't changing. But it seems like a lot of effort for someone to have to approve everyone and ensure they're a genuine member of the Giant Bomb community.
