Does the title's spelling bother you? (71 votes)

Yes 27%
No 73%

The name Super Motherload is great, except for one thing: that's not how you spell mother lode! It's not even like they are trying to differentiate themselves from another game called Mother Lode, or anything. Is it supposed to be a play on words? It's not a very good one, if it is.

Anyway, because I'm a stickler for spelling, this bugs the hell out of me. I'm curious how many other people on the site feel the same way.

It bugs me a little, but I don't know anything about the game, so maybe it's a pun or something.

Maybe its a trendy misspelling. Everybody does it these days.

I find this whole arguing over cultural variations of spelling to be ridiculous.

EDIT: This is a game about mining? Spell that shit right.

nope

It bugs me, but not as much as neglecting hyphens (not the case here).

Yeah, the spelling kind of bugs me, but I'm also bugged by the part where the game seems like a less interesting Steamworld Dig.

The OP isn't talking about cultural variations. A Lode is very much a real thing when it comes to mining materials, as is a Motherlode.

Of course, having not played the game I have no way of telling if their spelling is perhaps a pun or reference within the game.

@tobbrobb: Considering it's a game about mining, and lode is a mining term, I don't think it's a pun.

Ah, I had no idea that the game was about mining (I actually haven't heard anything about this game). Sure, they probably should have spelled it differently.

As someone who is very into videos of lactating women, the spelling is perfect

From the title I assumed that this was a porn game about moms. Was that their intention?

This. In context it's pretty bad. If the game wasn't ABOUT mining, it wouldn't be worth caring. But in context it is about as bad as "Words with Freinds".

Actually, "Words with Freinds" would have been awesome.

In that case. Yes it bothers me.

Wait... you mean to tell me that it's not "We hit the mother load!"

I didn't know it was lode. I thought it's like a load like a load of stuff, the mother of all loads.

I'm not bothered by it but when I searched for it google had to correct my 'correct' spelling...

It does now that you've pointed it out to me. Completely serious

This is the same disappointment I felt when discovering it wasn't "roll" playing games. I though it was a reference to the dice rolls
