First game didn't have one of course but then came Super Smash Bros. Melee and then Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 3DS are coming out very soon. I wonder if they keep these lame ass names or will they come up with something like SSB: Rumble or whatever.

I don't know, Super Smash Bros. Fo(u)r seems fine to me.

It's only a week and 9 days away, so I don't know. It will probably be an Apple thing and people will just add a word to the name to reference it.

They better change the names of those games. Of course Nintendo has an odd history of adding dumb shit to the names of their games (64, Wii, DS, U.) At least adding Super to the title works and sounds badass.

Nope, pretty sure they already confirmed that they won't be changing the names. They're terrible names, but I guess it makes sense for them to keep them.

Why not Super Smash Bros U and Super Smash Bros 3D if they need to keep the console association in the title for whatever dumb marketing reason.

No. SSB for Wii U and SSB for Nintendo 3DS are their final names.

They're silly, but it makes some sense. They want to differentiate the versions, make it clear to average joes which one is which, and drive home the point that YOU SHOULD TOTALLY GET A WII U TO PLAY THIS FANCY VERSION, PLEASE.

Oh man this really sucks. Doesn't change the game in any way of course but still very lame choice of name. For a series that is as crazy and full of fanservice you expect better. I rather a stupid name rather than a lame or lazy one.

Yup, no actual subtitle beyond "For WiiU" and "For 3DS". Such a bummer. There are still plenty of perfectly useful synonyms out there...like SUPER SMASH BROS. ALTERCATION

It'd be kinda cool if the title was simply "Smash." That's what my buddies and I always called it when we were ready to play it.
