What should Telltales next series be?

With the recent releases of Tales from the Borderlands and Game of Thrones it got me thinking about what their next series should be. Now I have know idea about copyrights of what they could do, but I would really like a Star Wars game. There is so much lore they could use to make a pretty great game.

What are some other properties Telltale should do?

Honestly I'd really like to see another season of Sam and Max.

But if they're going to continue on the license train then I'm kinda up for whatever.

Stuff like Game of Thrones, and I like the show, it seems superfluous. Nothing in that game will be of consequence because if it was, it would have been on the show. Comic book adaptations seem to fit the pace of these games a lot better because so much crazy insane shit happens over such a long period of time in a lot of them (like Fables) that you can fill in a time gap with original content that's actually compelling. Nothing from Wolf Among Us appears in the books, but Telltale were able to do a lot within the premise and the world, knowing ahead of time the fate of every character (Fables is just about wrapped up) and that's more of what they should do.

Walking Dead I guess was that but that world didnt do a lot for me personally, but it has fans. So completed comics could work, or works of fiction with interesting premises (Niel Gaiman whatever, Philip K. Dick whatever) that can be explored in fun ways. A hard scifi/cyberpunk setting could be interesting from them.

You know what? I'd like to see them do a Superman story. Know why? because Superman as a combat based game is pretty much broken to begin with. He can't get hurt other than kryptonite.

Imagine having to make tough Superman decisions like saving certain people and shit like that.......I don't know. It would be something different.

Puzzle Agent? Which I don't think did all that well. They dipped their toe in the water and it froze off, give them a little credit.

The fact is if they make a cyberpunk noir adventure game and call it Snatcher its going to sell better than calling it "New Telltale Property", even if every bit of the story was written specific for the game and not an adaptation.

Hm, I thought that was based on Graham Annable's stuff.

I dont think it was based on any previous work or adapted from anything. He gets credited like he was brought in from outside of the company but he's a Telltale employee. There is no "Nelson Tethers" comic from which Puzzle Agent was based, I'm fairly certain.

Twin Peaks: the video game.

At this point they can just go full visual novel and do a Persona style social-linking and mystery / thriller game.

Although I'm not sure how much more past Game of Thrones (and potentially Wolf Among Us 2) I can keep going with their formula. It feels abusive at a certain point. Walking Dead season 2 was weak overall, but at least there was a clearly better ending you can get. It would be nice if individual episodes had more good choices / endings, rather than always ending on a "damn it" note.

Mass Effect.

There's so much storytelling potential in that universe beyond what has been explored, much of which wouldn't fit in a full fledged RPG that necessitates a lot of combat. Delving more heavily into the politics and underworld stuff of Mass Effect without having to concoct reasons to shoot a bunch of dudes could be great. Telltale's games are already a lot like Bioware games, just distilled down to only the dialogue and decision making, so it would be a good fit (much better than Borderlands anyway).

Holy shit, I totally forgot that Puzzle Agent was a Telltale joint. I love Puzzle Agent.

I'm genuinely tired of hearing so constantly as of late that telltale is doing so many series at this rate. I would love for them to take a break for a good while and really decide what series they want to work on( or another new IP for once would be great) as well as possibly rethink how they handle the structure of "gameplay" in their games.

I dunno, I think I'd like to hear about something weird coming from them, like this Borderlands game. That they managed to turn something like that into what is apparently looking to be a good adventure game is really cool. I'd like to see them going from license to license, making a single, contained story. Starcraft? Elder Scrolls? Warhammer 40k? Star Trek/Wars? I could see some a Telltale style adventure game in any of those universes.

Something to do with Space - that's not Star Trek or Star Wars.
