Who will do the Quick Look

I think it's almost guaranteed to be a Vinny quick look. Or at the very least, it probably should be. But Brad doing it doesn't seem impossible.

I'd bet money that Rorie had no intention to do it and no one asked him either.

As an aside. Didn't Dan enjoy the previous games? I don't know why I think that, might be some offhand comment.

EDIT: Actually it might be some of the SF guys pulling Danny on a video. I'd definitely be into that.

Vinny. He wants to and he should but it wouldnt surprise me if it ended up with Brad and Dan trying to compare PC VS PS4 or something like that.

Recent Danswers highlighted that Vinny has basically no home time for games and primarily plays games in the office. Hence Vinny randomly streaming Far Cry 4 because he doesn't have time for 20-40 hour open world games on his own time.

So I dunno, for a major release like Witcher 3, I'd think they would have someone lead the Quick Look who knows all the ins and outs of it, not Vinny who will have found like 3 hours to play it in the office.

I suspect Brad or Dan will review it, so I expect a Quick Look from one of them?

Vinny will do it I think, he's the most knowledgeable on the series.

A Drew and Rorie quick look would be interesting. I don't hear just the two of them a heck of a lot doing stuff.

I could also see GBeast doing one, since Vinny is all up in The Witcher lore and probably has the most backround with the series out of anyone, if I recall correctly.

The only guy I remember having interest in the franchise other than Vinny was Patrick. Prepared or not, I don't see them giving the game to someone who doesn't have a good background in the franchise.

I really hope it's Vinny, but it'd probably take him even more time to get into the game playing it in Polish with Italian subtitles.

I'm not sure why people are so sure GB is going to review this game at all. It seems like there's interest for the game (even from Jeff) but that doesn't necessarily mean it will result in a review. They didn't even review Bloodborne, despite practically everyone on staff playing it.

They'll probably give it to someone to spend a few hours with to prepare for the quick look and then they'll just play it on their own time if they care to.

I'd like to hear Vinny's thoughts on it, but I wouldn't even be surprised to see Jeff head the Quick Look.

I just see no reason to speculate, it seems rather unimportant who does it. Its is like like wondering what designer dress Jennifer Lawrence will wear?

Did she act well? Will she fall up the stairs again? Those are interesting questions about Jennifer Lawrence, so who made the pretty, pretty dress is that she wears is not really relevant, much like who does the QuickLook for Witcher. Does anyone think someone is better than another someone here? Yah, really shouldn't think that way. Such thinking is like playing "who's my best friend" in kindergarten.. It leads to lots of crying and hurt feeling resulting for a meaningless question.

@monkeyking1969: That's a remarkably nonsensical rant. It's quite obvious why people might want someone like Vinny to do the Quick Look, because he has the most experience and knowledge about the series, and thus potentially has more insight on how this game compares to previous games. It's ridiculous to suggest that would hurt anyone's feelings, it's just a fact.

I doubt anyone is going to pull out their pitchforks if someone else does it.

I really hope it's Vinny or Rorie, as they're the two best equipped to do so (especially Vinny, who really liked the previous two from what I understand). Both are generally the best at Quick Looking RPG's, especially ones of this open-world action-y variety.

Of course, we're all operating under the assumption that they will do a Quick Look.

Seeing as Vinny has played through all of the Witcher games, I'm going with him. The review embargo lifts at 0700 (PDT) tomorrow. So I hope we find out then.

@believer258: I don't think there's any chance there won't at least be a quick look. There's enough interest and hype that it's pretty much a given. I think it's just a matter of who, when, and where.

Since Vinny was a huge fan of the previous games, I'd hope he'll do the one for this game too. If for some reason he doesn't I think Rorie will be involved in some capacity.

If I'm not mistaken, GBeast has the superior rig to run Witcher 3 at high (or higher) fidelity levels than home base, so I think it makes sense for them to do it. Plus, it's Vinny we're talking about here.

I really hope Vinny does it. I only see Brad at the main office really digging into it, as Rorie doesn't care for The Witcher series.

I'd love to see a cross-country quicklook ala the recent Dirt (Vinny, Alex, Drew) with Rorie manning controls Brad being the Wingman and Vinny manning the GB East contingent.

Vinny ought to do it. I don't want to see anyone else do it, not since Vinny spent all that time on the first two games and the books.

That's what Arthur Gies (from Polygon) said on his Rebel FM podcast. I thought most NDAs fell under their own NDA (don't talk about when the NDA lifts) but I guess not. I can give you a link to the podcast if you want it.

Personally - and I know Quick Looks aren't supposed to be about "the fans" - I'd like Vinny to do the QL.

I'd like to see Vinny do it because he has a history with the series and will likely be better equipped to drive an informative quick look.

If there isn't a 2 hour video of Vinny saying "the WITCHaaaaa" repeatedly on this site by the end of the month, I'm cancelling my subscription.

If it's not Vincent then it would be this writer's most humble opinion that the good fellows at the Giant Bomb have made a jolly good mistake... mhhhyeessss.

It'll be Vinny. He's the closest they have to a Witcher expert. And it'll look nice on PC. And they could skype in Brad or Rorie... or both.

I wouldn't be surprised if it was a Jeff and Dan QuickLook. It's a major release so Dan will want to play it, and Jeff is probably interested enough to sit in for the QL but maybe not outright play it right away.

Vinny should. He is the one that played the previous ones. At least Witcher 2.
