Sony pre-TGS Press Conference LIVE

Sony will be holding a press conference live more than two weeks before TGS has officially begun.

No guarantees there will be big reveals, but the stream will be here (English Ustream) at 2 AM EST / 11 PM PST / 7 AM BST.

We can reconvene here to discuss when this thing gets going.

Maybe a noteworthy thing: FF XV changed its domain name earlier today to http://www.finalfantasyxv.com from http://www.na.square-enix.com/FFXV. So, uh...set your expectations accordingly, I guess. Although some guy on NeoGAF says there won't be FFXV. Also I heard on NeoGAF that Marc McDonald of 8-4 fame has said there will be new game announcements at the conference. I started listening to their podcast fairly recently. I like it.

How has this worked for the past games? Has it been Sony or Atlus that's done the big reveal?

I really, really hope Persona 5 makes an appearance, it's about time for them to fully reveal it. I'm also hopeful for some FFXV, but I don't know, Nomura seems to be working on a thousand things that just advance at a snail's pace.

The link in the OP is to the english stream. What exactly that means I can't tell you, but I would assume there will english subs?

EDIT: Just realized the archive of last years' stream is available and it looks like that had real time translation via VO, so we can probably expect the same for this one.

Last year they had a-ma-zing (read: terrible) translators. They would translate not only the people on stage, but the trailers themselves. It was pure gold.

I'm not expecting anything Persona related out of this. Atlus seems to prefer to reveal stuff on their own schedule.

Since this thing is gonna start at 3:30 AM my time and I expect to get called to work at 7 I don't think I'll stay up to watch it.

What's the over/under on number of Vita games shown? Probably around 3.5? I'd expect P4G to be shown if P5 is also gonna be there.

Sony will announce a new version of the Vita with a third analog stick, and The Last Guardian will be exclusive to it.

I think it was something ambiguous like, "probably not" or "don't plan on it." They love to use loose language in situations like that because hard answers can be made into lies. Still, I'd be extremely surprised if they did show it.

@rongalaxy: It's only being called a Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Press Conference 2014. I can't find any reference to it being their TGS press conference. I would guess they will have one now and then a more substantial one then.

This could just be something to build up hype for TGS. I'm currently not expecting much, but eh, after Nintendo's recent big announcement about the new 3DS, just about anything could be coming.
