If so which one is your favorite? The forth one is my favorite is my favorite and I do also love way of the ninja too. If you haven't checked these games out do so, they are fantastic. They make good on the story being shaped by your actions far better than any game that has ever made that came.
really fascinating games that are very very under appreciated, i wouldn't be surprised come next gen, a big budget game copies a lot of stuff from this series. it does the multi-narrative thing just as good as the best of them.
maybe i haven't played enough way of the samurai 4, but i really like the 3rd one, and i think i like it more than the 4th one.
i hope i hope i hope i hope, that they get one more shot to do a way of the samurai 5 on next gen. its the start of a new generation of consoles, now would be the perfect time to greenlight a new way of the samurai game.
@mrfluke: today I was playing a bunch of #4 and then popped in #3 just to see it again. My save file said I've played it for 30 hours and the last time I played it was december 2009. I don't remember a damn thing about it. It is mind boggling how different it is. You run so fast and jump way higher. Also it has english voice acting which really freaked me out for a little while.
those games are just so fascinating , really hope ps4 makes good on the backwards compatibility gaikai stuff, really wanna be able to play these on ps4. and i really wanna see a proper next gen way of the samurai.
and we got a good lull before next gen, i think ima play some more way of the samurai 4.
The first one was the only one I've played and I really liked it. Though I really want to go back and play it at some point, cuz I remember playing that like I would play GTA3 or something. Just running around killing random people, mostly not paying attention to the story. For anyone that has played them, how are 3 and 4?
I loaned a friend a game. He sold that game, it was Dragon Ball Z Budokia. In some way of saying sorry (the fucker sold my game...on purpose....its not like it was an accident) he gave me three game. One was Evergrace i sis loved it so it was a win I suppose. Another was.....Way of the samurai
This being mid life for the ps2 I expected it to be terrible. What I found was an amazing and awsome game, that became stupid fun once I used a Ninjato and would just use the move were I jump in the air flip onto the bad guys and just break their necks. I was hooked on sword collecting and fighting. The stories and ending wow.
I bought WOTS 2 new as it recently came out this was like a month after playing 1. I loved it even more I easily put 60 hours into that game.
I heard of the news that WOTS 3 was on ps3 in japan. I waited for translation.....on 360. So that took a long time seeing as PS3 got it first and never confirmed 360. I played it on 360 and loved it all over again.
WOTS 4 comes out! AND!.....I still have not played it as I dont have a ps3.
I am probably the biggest WOTS in this topic and cant play 4.
hm....maybe....its....just....maybe. Because I played WOTS I can stand all the quirkiness of Deadly premonition?
I remember the first one being pretty great because you could actually beat the game by just walking out of the village. I mean it kinda defeats the purpose of experiencing the story but it was one of the first games where you could just go "fuck it" and end the game.
I've only played the fourth one and have kind of been chipping away at it over the months since XSEED released it here, slowly getting all the endings and content. I had started making an Unbreakable sword with crazy stats before I put it down for a while. I wouldn't say I love it or anything, but there's something cool about walking around and drawing my sword on anyone who bumps into me (or who I run over, more likely).
