I am indeed sick of Windjammers. I've avoided watching 2 or 3 videos on the site for that reason alone.

But then again, one does not come to Giant Bomb for variety these days.

I'm more disappointed that I have no way of playing it myself.

I was never really on board with Windjammers to begin with.

Yes and no. I still really like it, but not when Jeff gets to play because he is so much better than everyone else. When the players skills is evenly matched it's super exciting, but then Jeff comes in and just dominates them. Vinny seems to be the only one that can stand a chance from time to time, but even then it takes him a few games to get going and even then it's not a sure thing.

I laughed at this. I have decided against ascertaining exactly why I did so, likely through fear of the reason depressing me.

Giant Bomb doesn't feel like the type of place where you can question the status quo (or at least if you do, you'll get quite a bit of shit for it).

Yup, it's getting to be a bit much. It takes me back to when the MK reboot was released, and how they just never stopped playing it.

And heres the thing, they are enjoying playing Windjammers. As a result they have a fun time and that shows through the stream making it more enjoyable to watch.

Yes, definitely getting burnt out on windjammers. Kind of disappointing that now whenever any of them say "special livestream" all I hear is "2 hours of windjammers" and immediately tune out.

I'm sure it's probably a fantastic game to play but with how the commentary by those playing it has degraded to grunts and yells as they try to score it's just sort of become a noisy screensaver with very little to recommend it as far as enjoyable viewing. I can not understand the zeitgeist around it, maybe it's that whole community desperately needing something they can call their own?

I'd just like some variety. God! how I crave some variety in their livestreams of late...

I'm not desputing that at all, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy them. It would surprise me if he didn't really enjoy them considering they have become a re-occuring feature on the site.

I like it because I get really into the competitive aspect of it and I end up really rooting for someone. It helps that the game is fast as fuck.

I don't know if any of you guys are reading this, and I doubt that you'll follow the recommendation of one lowly forum poster... but please, leave that game alone for a few months. Actually, next time you do a livestream of old games, try picking things we haven't seen before.

No, but maybe it's because I'm one of those people who looks up home Neo Geo machines every time they play it and then curses the video game gods for the cost of those things, let alone the game cart itself. The nuance to Windjammers seems ridiculous to me for such an old game and I love the animations to death.

I AM tired of Money Puzzle Exchanger, Battle Tetris, and any other kind of Tetris though. I do not have any fun watching people put blocks together even when there's magic involved.

Yes. It was fun to watch at the beginning but now I just skip past that stuff.

I didn't think I'd like windjammers, but I think it's exciting to watch.

I don't mind it usually, but I'm kind of not looking forward to watching yesterday's archive because they've been going back to it too many times. Like Tetris Battle Gaiden.

I mean, they play what they want, but people are watching and not everyone is going to love the same old thing they keep on doing. The game doesn't inspire a whole lot of conversation, either.

Another reason I don't think I mind the Windjamming is that, considering the year it's been, just about anything that makes these guys laugh and come together is fine with me. I didn't come to Giant Bomb for the video games, necessarily, I came for the people. Sure, I've played more games over the past year and change than I had the entire generation of PS3 and I owe a lot of that to the enthusiasm I absorbed form Ryan Davis and the realization that Jeff was the real Hip Hop Gamer, but not a lot of those games came at their explicit recommendation. These people just reminded me how to have fun with games, and really how to appreciate life in general. So whenever I can see them having honest moments of joy, especially the past six months, it really warms my heart.

I'm bored of it. Watching Jeff choose the same character and win over and over again got tired pretty damn fast. Yeah, we get it, you're good at these kinds of games; you spent a lot of time in arcades playing fighting games and whatnot. Beating the same handful of guys repeatedly doesn't prove anything any more. Sadly, they seem to have the arcade mentality of winner stays on, and therefore it's just Jeff cycling between the less experienced, less capable players, and it doesn't help that he's so damn competitive about it. It's just not any fun any more. Either Jeff needs to step up and actually bring in some decent competition, or he should excuse himself from Windjammers so we can enjoy watching the other guys play each other on a more level playing field. The least he could do is play a different character. Jeff doesn't need to listen to me, and he doesn't owe me shit, so whatever. It's just a shame, because it started off being so enjoyable to watch, and it's still can be fun to watch, but they have been running it into the ground since the Extra Life stream.

In many ways, this whole thing is exactly why I tend to avoid playing competitive multiplayer games.

It was more interesting when Jeff wasn't dominating every match.

Turn on the dip switch or whatever that unlocks the move to cut off the other guys head with your frisbee.

I could always go for some more Windjammers, but I think it would be cool to see more Tetris and Money Puzzle Exchanger in there too because those are great games.

It looks like a fun game, but after you watch it for 5 minutes you see everything it has to offer.

That's kind of my issue with it. They don't really seem to have interesting conversations while playing it. I'll watch them play anything if they're talking about the random shit they talk about. But it seems that Windjammers just draws them in too much and they don't have as much fun conversation.
