Early forum posts are in, people are upset about having to pay a fee for second hand gaming. Let's take a step back for a moment, and contemplate on how this is not going to have much of an impact on the lives of most gamers.
Let's assume that new games still cost $60 on the Xbox One, and let's say that there is a $5 fee for installing a second hand game. In today's used game market, buying a game used that came out a week ago will cost you $55. With a $5 installation fee, you would now be spending the full $60 on the game. Luckily for consumers, that is not how the used game market is going to work next generation. Due to this new fee, retailers are going to have to reduce the price of their used games if they want consumers to continue to purchase them. Meaning that used games will likely be dropped down to $50. Everything will even out for you, much like everything evens out for Jerry Seinfeld.
Before you rage, take a minute to think about how the world works.
