Hey Forza Horizon fans! Get those cameras out! As the game makes you well aware of (if you've done any of the outpost PR stuff) Forza games have always had a photo mode so lets see that hot hot car porn. Simply take a picture in game then upload it to Forzamotorsport.net then go to the website. You can instantly log into Forzamotorsport.net with your XBL credientals since it is a Microsoft run site. So no signing up for an account or anything! Then, grab your photo's and upload them here for all to see. Show off your designs or just designs you thought were cool! I'll get this kicked off with a picture I just took of a Subaru WRX '11 featuring a High School of the Dead DxD character design on it. I really thought the pink & black were pretty cool on this thing.

Forza Horizon takes the racing off the track and drops it into an open world full of various activities.
Show us your whip. (a.k.a the screenshot thread)
Fuck. Now I want this game just to have cars with awesome designs like this on them. That car is awesome bro.

@ImmortalSaiyan: You can't import designs but you can import Vinyl groups that you made from Forza 4.
So you just layer those properly to remake the image? Are there lots up on the store now?

Here you go...
Oh wait, you meant in game didn't you...
Thread's over folks, see you all next time...
@Demoskinos: pink and black always look great on a car, it's the way I gotta roll with a car. Oh, and I'll be sure to upload a picture soon!
Most of my driving is in various BMWs, per personal preference, but I had a race I needed a "B" class car with very high final top speed to win in the orange bracket, so I took the barn-find Cuda and dropped all engine upgrades into it (on stock tires, oy...). Had to paint it though, like how grey/black/orange works together.
After winning that race, I topped it out at a high "S" ranking (mostly by dropping good rubber on it) and blew the freeway speed trap at 328km/h.
Here's the latest one, I bumped it up to the top end b class for the street races, and decided to actually paint one. I didn't put much effort int but I like it. And yes, it does say sexy on the roof.
@RoyaleWifCheese: Love that design. I made a Halloween-themed car for Forza 4 and posted pics of it in the Forza 4 picture area. I might recreate it in Forza Horizon, but I doubt I'll buy it in time for Halloween.

@RoyaleWifCheese You mean you remembered "The Misfits".
That feeling when you're not sure if somebody just thinks it's a cool skull.
@Strife777: Yeah, like I said, I remembered Halloween.
@Stahlbrand: Breaks my heart. I've known of people that wear shirts, but couldn't name one Misfits song that wasn't covered by AFI. Ugh.

I should probably buy this game, huh.
I bought Forza 3 used for like $5, and I'm enjoying it, but... damn. Damn.
Yeah. This game is miles more fun.

I've seen people say Forza 4 is about as good, but in a different sort of way. Do you think this one is blatantly better than 4 in every way, or if I prefer on-track racing and car maintenance would 4 be a cheaper alternative?
How is Horizon compared to the originals? I'm big on the professional races and all the tuning. Does this game offer the same customization options? Haven't touched my xbox in... well a very long time.

Blatantly better in every way? Absolutely not. Better? Probably, but it's arguable. More accessible? Sure. Better atmosphere, tone, and feel-good vibes? Certainly.
I look at it this way, though some people will likely find it contentious. It's not a Forza game, but ostensibly a sandbox Project Gotham. It plays, feels, sounds, and rewards like a Project Gotham game. As a person who was obsessed with Project Gotham Racing 2, that means so goddamned much. The driving isn't as rigid and sterile as it is in the Forza titles, but it still maintains enough integrity to trick yourself into thinking you're really driving these vehicles.
The obsessively-detailed tuning is gone from Horizon, and you'll miss it at first. But you are still choosing from a plethora of upgrades for your cars and each one can make a noticeable difference. There are dozens of configurations for each vehicle, so you'll still get the sense--even if you're driving the same model of car as someone else on the track--that your setup is unique to your sensibility.

I hate those people who say "they're too different to compare" about games they simply don't want to judge against each other. But in truth, Forza 4 and Horizon appeal to different perspectives. If you truly want an organized, "track-based" racing experience, and tuning your cars to the slightest degree is a meaningful activity for you, then maybe pick up FM4 now (for cheap) and grab Horizon when the price drops. Or for the holidays. If you want a free-wheeling, happy-go-lucky romp through a gorgeous--and I mean GORGEOUS--rendition of Colorado, where you have a wide selection of highly customizable cars and can shoot the shit free-roaming with your pals, then maybe Horizon is your flavor. Your delicious, delicious flavor.
I'll say this, breaking any guise of objectivity: I have played every Forza since the original. And I haven't fallen in love with a racing game the way I have with Horizon in a long, long, long time.
@HistoryInRust: Very good explanation. Maybe i'll grab it cheap in the future. I don't see a reason to spend 60$ on a game right now, but it definitely sounds like a great game. Huge fan of PGR.
Here are some of mine. I'll update this thread with any new photos I take in Horizon. Hoping you guys will do the same!
@Slaughtahouse: There doesn't seem to be any way in this game to actually tune the cars and there isn't any simulation damage, only cosmetic. It's definitely more leaning toward arcade style racing without going all of the way there. I'm having a lot of fun with it but wish it had more of the Forza things we come to expect and love.
all the comparisons to PGR make me really want to get this game, these beautiful screenshots are certainly helping its cause
