If you have an IGN Prime account (or keep forgetting to cancel like me), Turn 10 has added December pack codes for free.

Anyone know why Turn 10 sent me a Cobra 427 S/C?

#303 Posted by Trace (3544 posts) -

@ShaggyChu: It's their first gift to VIPs. They had a vote on their Facebook page between the Cobra and the GT40.

@PsEG: Oh... well, that shows how much I pay attention to their facebook posts. I really should just block all that stuff, only mostly so I don't have to see all that crap on my phone (no way to filter that, total bummer).

#305 Posted by Trace (3544 posts) -

Going to be a little late for race night, guys. I am just starting to drive home from class Holy crap voice commands work on my android phone

I pulled a slowbird, I was too tired to play, blame work, etc etc.

#307 Posted by Grnd_Lb_Knt (179 posts) -

We had a good lobby most of the night. Hovered around 6-8. We didn't run into that bug/issue we usually do. Flag Pole with Raptors on Maple Valley Short(?) was pretty awesome. I didn't see a Hill Climb done.

#308 Posted by Jugnutts (434 posts) -

I have family in town and with the holidays, i will be missing a few more RNs :(

#309 Posted by slowbird (1621 posts) -

I swear, I'll make it back to Race Night someday. Probably when I can find one of the Microsoft wireless headsets that isn't the new dumb bluetooth-style ones.

#310 Posted by Falconer (1680 posts) -

@slowbird: So never, then?

#311 Posted by slowbird (1621 posts) -

@ShaggyChu: you shut your filthy mouth.

#312 Posted by Falconer (1680 posts) -

@slowbird: But not nearly as filthy as I made your mother's last night.

#313 Posted by slowbird (1621 posts) -

@ShaggyChu: Checkmate.

#314 Posted by Falconer (1680 posts) -

@slowbird: That's what they've always looked like...

Yes...until recently, when they stopped selling that model and started selling a newer model that has a new design, an unnecessary use-with-your-phone mode, and lower review scores on Amazon. The new one was the only one at Gamestop and most other retailers, but I found this older style at Sears for 10 bucks less.

Noob.

#316 Edited by Falconer (1680 posts) -

@slowbird: Also, the battery in those things die after about a year. Have fun!

#317 Posted by beef_daddy (97 posts) -

@Slowbird, Good choice I have been using that model for years, recently got the newer one and I am not impressed.

#318 Posted by slowbird (1621 posts) -

@ShaggyChu: Your soul is dark and cavernous, like a black hole.

@beefdaddy82: Thanks!

My flaming cock just got a hummer.

#320 Posted by Magicallystoopid (467 posts) -

@Keval_N: If your cock is flaming you might wanna go see a doctor...

Also, see you bitches tomorrow night! I'm bring the pain, and the thunder, and OTHER VARIOUS THINGS THAT ARE BAD.

#321 Posted by Trace (3544 posts) -

As of tonight, our club garage has an old friend that was taken away from us when 3 became 4. Its setup is still kind of shit, but the design is as good as it's ever been.

The Space Neon Lobster's back, y'all! Feel free to use it and suggest changes.

Have you guys tried doing some sort of sumo wrestling thing in the small soccer arena where you have to push your opponent into one of the goal posts. Last one standing wins.

#323 Posted by SushiX (137 posts) -
@Magicallystoopid: that sounds like s a pretty cool idea.

That does sound awesome, but I've yet to see a way to use the soccer field maps in a mode outside of soccer, so the chances of any alternate modes are unlikely.

Last night was cool. Lot o' racin'

Laz and company (slowbird, me and I forget who else) lost pretty bad @ soccer (4 to 1). Played against 3 Spykers and a Hummer.

Laz punished everyone to go around Rally in Hummers with full damage and possibly little traction (I forget). It was fun.

We did some up hill in S class. Some Maple Valley, Ladera, Infineon, ect. in other classes.

We ended with some NASCAR w/ damage w/ Stock Hummer traffic. That was fun. Did that twice. Then did the same on Top Gear.

Two people had their first race night wins (Razor won the Hummer challenge around Rally). And Sushi(? [I don't remember these things) won the second NASCAR because most very too damaged.

Congrats to those guys!!! (I still have yet to get a win)

We hit midnight and didn't run into the bug. But we hit it when trying to setup multiclass on Nürburgring(?) around 12:40 EDT. We ran multiclass before. No one got in after midnight. Nebraska Team wasn't there. I think it was me but the track never loaded. Don't know what's going on with that. I wonder if it has something to do with the complexity of the setup?

(These notes are in no way affilated with the official Race Notes. Any resemblance to the real Race Notes, is purely coincidental. The wording of this disclaimer differs from jurisdiction to jurisdiction, and from country to country, as does its legal effectiveness.)

I'm witht PAX on the theme nights. I was going to suggest the idea myself. I think rather than a different theme each week it should be a month theme. That way we can have one or two races during race night dealing with the theme. This lets people race other things if they don't like the theme. This prevent the Leaders from having to come up with a theme every week and restrictions. Could work. Not up to me though.

It was actually one Spyker to three hummers, and I was the one who won the NASCAR w/ Hummers race.

Other then that... yep.

#327 Posted by MrRedwine (429 posts) -

I won the second NASCAR with Hummers race for my first victory. It was a good night.

#328 Posted by slowbird (1621 posts) -

I've had a suspicion for a while that my brake pedal wasn't giving me full range, and I finally remembered to check it with the telemetry view in 4za.

Yep, roughly 60% brake pressure. So that's why I haven't been locking up the brakes at all.

Time to buy the fancy pedals.

I now present to you, the greatest Fiero Ford GT...in the world.

Hey guys, I think this might be a kit car.

AWWWWWWW YEAHHHHHHHH *sunglasses*

They even got the badge right! (Sorta.)
#330 Posted by Falconer (1680 posts) -

@slowbird: You're the worst best no wait, what was I thinking worst kind of person.

#331 Posted by Trace (3544 posts) -

@ShaggyChu: Say what you will, but I bet that Fiordo GT can leave an El Camaro in the dust.

What the fuck is this thing supposed to be, a fuckin' Hot Wheel?

#336 Posted by Trace (3544 posts) -

My apologies for the delay in delivering race notes. There have been...distractions.

Before I get into any silly bullet points, though, the GB100 thread and poll is up! Visit there, see that we're racing January 1st at 8:00 PM EST, and vote on the track you want to run for 100 laps. I know I said I'd limit it to the five new tracks in Forza 4, but since Nurburgring GP was DLC for 3 and wasn't a valid choice for prior GB100 events, it's one of the potential choices now.

Go there, and choose wisely. After that, come back here, and witness the cat.

HATEFEST IS NOT HATFEST, SORRY TF2 FANS
  • Another decent turnout this week, but we're back down to Forza 3 levels. Hopefully that will change, since I think that's partially to blame for my annoying post-soccer Hatefests. A full 8-on-8 battle would be far more entertaining!
  • All Americans are John Wayne. Startling news, I know, but it's true...you racists.
  • Fiero fandom leads to creepy behavior, like pedophilia with El Camino lovers or joining Michael Waltrip fan clubs.
  • ...seriously, this is the crazy bullshit we discuss while racing. It's not even some random underwear Madlibs bullshit. We actually talk at length about this stuff.
  • Speaking of which, I have "BEEEEEEEEEEEEF" and "Who knew Taiwan ________" in my notes, and for the life of me I can't remember what that's about.
  • The ending to Pro Race Driver is like The Ring: If you see it, you only have a few days to live. Seriously, does that asshole kid ever encounter the other asshole that caused the crash that killed his father? Is that even talked about after the introduction? I'd like to know, but I also like living.
  • Night of the Living Alfa is a really good classic horror film. It helped foster a tolerance for Italian cars.
  • Be sure to come on down to Crazy Laz's Used Clutch for all your busted clutch needs!
  • Finally, I note that I've scrawled down "HAVE FUN" and "HATE HATE" in the notes. I think that was around the time I started getting rather pissed at being beaten by a series of breakaways and misfortune. Seriously, we need to get back to larger games of soccer. Until we do, I may have to impose restrictions.

And that's all! Hopefully last week's Hatefest didn't drive you off, especially given that the GB100's coming up. I hope to see you this Thursday for more Race Night action!

I am back gentlemen. I finally was able to get my hands on a copy of Forza for good old christmas. I may not be able to make it this week due to a priar engagement but that may fall through. I will see all of you on the track.

P.S. whats the deal with the club?

#341 Posted by Falconer (1680 posts) -

Hmmm... so I put Forza 4 in at #7 on my GOTY list. Man, I really hate the fucking AI in this game. Still waiting on my M3 too.

@Coldfront said:

The deal is the club's an awesome place to compare times and try out shared cars. Also that I'll totally free up a spot and send you an invite soonish here.

...speaking of which, as a general note to everyone here, don't mind that TJESpider guy in the club. He might be a certain somebody related to me that received Forza 4 as a Christmas gift, and might also be really impressed with how much more realistic the driving feels in 4. He also likes looking over the leaderboards, which led to him actually buying upgrades for once, before switching from the Citroen C1 to the Chevy Spark.

@Coldfront: @Magicallystoopid: You both have club invites sitting in your Forza inbox.

Well, that was certainly another Race Night, full of action and...loading.

Cue the cat.

...

...

...

...

...any minute now...

...

...

...oh, COME ON.

...

...

...

...wait, I think I heard something.

...yep, there he is.

This loading bug is killing us.
  • Quite a diverse crowd tonight! Hopefully this upturn is a promising sign, provided Forza 4's multiplayer problems don't drive anyone away. I'm noticing more of a relation with complicated rulesets, but I'm still clueless as to any specific correlation.
  • I think that until the loading issues are fixed, my "hug Brian Ekberg if Forza 5 adds three majorly awesome things" promise is going to turn into "give Brian Ekberg the angriest bearhug possible if Forza 4 isn't fixed." Provided I ever meet him. I probably won't, but if I do, it'll be a hateful hug. Punch him in the hug! ...without actually punching him. Just a very punchful hug.
  • "You guys are faggots." -A newcomer's view on Race Night.
  • Your mom doesn't understand cloud saves. Seriously, go ask her.
  • I don't want no scrums. A scrum is a guy that can't get no love from me. (A new theory for ejection into space during car soccer, perhaps?)
  • Inner City Car Soccer: One ball, and when it gets hit up onto a Hummer the game's over until we can get somebody to go up and knock it back down. :(
  • Your mom's a community feature. Seriously, go ask her. ...don't actually ask her.
  • REMEMBER: Car Soccer != Car!Soccer. Two entirely different games.
  • Hatefest has turned into a sentient creature. God help us all.
  • Also, Dan Greenawalt hates NASCAR. Clearly. Otherwise, maybe we'd get a damn round or two of it underway without the fucking loading bug.
  • Finally, that Maddog guy that was racing with us tonight? He's cool. If he wants in the GB club, we can make room for him.

Remember! Sunday at 8 PM EST is the beginning of the GB100. Be ready for that. Otherwise, be ready for next Thursday and more Race Night. I'll see you then.

welp, long story short, I was in the hospital for Race NIght. I hope they can take the tube out of my sensitive bits before next week's Race Night.

#347 Posted by Falconer (1680 posts) -

@slowbird: Did you roll your car for realsies this time?

#348 Posted by slowbird (1621 posts) -

@ShaggyChu: no, I had abdominal pain that seemed like appendicitis but wasn't. I guess that would have been more painful, but it's still crappy.

#349 Posted by Jugnutts (434 posts) -
@ShaggyChu: What's your excuse for not showing up? Better be better than Slowbirds lame ass one.

@Jugnutts: Better yet, what's his mom's excuse for not showing up?
