    One of the best, for sure, but I think Pete Townshend is a better composer. He's probably the best singer, though.

    He was the best singer, i mean very few could even compare and not even my favorite (Axl Rose) was a match for Freddy. But composer? nah, that award goes to Lennon/McCartney

    Freddie had a lot of great work, but he didn't have the depth of some of the other composers. Not to say he was bad. During his time where he knew he had HIV, a lot of his songs were alluding to it in very brilliant ways. Especially, I'm Going Slightly Mad, where he basically described the mental state of everyone who had HIV.
